As an expat aussie in the US, I am outraged but not surprised by the blatantly corrupt and arrogant judicial system in Indonesia. What will surprise me is if the Aussie gov' won't help her.

Yes, I think we should bring a convicted criminal back into our country; we could definitely use a few more. Also, while we're at it, let's take away money from the civilians who chose to be born into poverty and then hit by a natural disaster, so they could get our money. They are certainly less deserving of life than our citizens.

I think it stinks that an innocent person such as Shapelle Corby is imprisoned for 20 years because of the lack of help out government is offering. It is people like the Bali 9 who deserve to be in jail having the evidence strapped to their bodies where as Shapelle was set up. I belive it is a different case to the Bali 9 and Shapelles don't treat her like she's done something wrong because all she did wrong was forget to lock her bags up.

I like many other Australians believe the Schapelle is completely innocent, she was an unfortunate victim of corruption either in Bali or our own baggage handlers. This whole situation is a disgrace. The Indonesian judicial system stinks they are not interested in Truth. All decent Australians should forever boycott Bali and perhaps all Indonesian Countries, and see how they feel when they lose their tourist dollars. I cannot believe you asked us to accept the verdict of guilty when Schapelle is clearly innocent. All evidence points to her innocence, even the evidence that you have withheld, from what I know with-holding evidence is a crime too.
WHY did the Australian Government NOT step-in months ago when Schapelle was first arrested? They KNEW about the customs officers who had been tampering with honest Australia travellers luggage but they did NOTHING to help this woman in her hour of need. WE pay their salaries but they don't keep their promises when it comes to a single Australian, in a foreign country, who needs the Australian Government to stand-up for her rights! Are they saying that one Australian is not worth their efforts to protect and assist when we need it or that it's only one person, we don't have time to help you? If it was one of the Australian Governments family members, I'm sure they would have done everything in their power to help. Come on Australia!! Help make our Australian Government work for us! As someone who works in law enforcement, Im disgusted that this sort of injustice can still occur ANYWHERE in the world in the year 2005. The Indonesian police failed to conduct the most basic of police responsibilities, handle evidence with care and caution, its NOT HARD and fingerprinting should always be done when examining 'evidence'. these basic police duties were not followed, so it baffles me to believe that Schapelle can be found GUILTY convincingly based on WHAT FACTUAL EVIDENCE? The word of a custom official who speaks poor english? this whole case has been a farce...Schapelle is INNOCENT! EVERYONE is innoncent until proven guilty..which was NOT proven in ANY way in this case...BRING SCHAPELLE HOME!
