The Bristol Tennessee Board of Education is considering a uniform dress code that would begin in the 2010-2011 school year. Two options currently being discussed are:

1. Uniform Dress Code Policy - A “uniform dress code policy” would provide guidelines for the type of shirts and pants permitted. There would be some choice regarding color, patterns, style, etc.

2. School Uniform - A “school uniform” would specifically detail the styles and colors of the shirts and pants that are permitted.

The decision of what clothes are worn to school should be left in the hands of parents/students.

There are regulations for a dress code currently in place, and there is no need for a stricter policy.

A child should be allowed to express themselves as individuals instead of a sea of uniforms.
