Britney is the root of all pop and always deserves to be recognized for her style. This has been one hell of a year for Brit and her videos potrayed the roller coaster it has been. 2 thumbs down to MTV for their lack of nominating Britney.
Britney deserves to finally win a VMA...she always spices up the VMAs, whether she's performing or just presenting. No other artist has brought more to the VMAs than Britney!
i hate how they always snub her.. Finally the grammy's nominate and award her one.. and as much press as Britney's given MTV in her career, they never give her shit.. Oh, she won the TRL awards "First Lady" award, the first time it was ever presented.. Britney's done far more for MTV & deserves MORE... Toxic was waay better than most of those songs & video's last year.. what? does she have to retire before you give her, her recognition??
It is unaffair that MTv has never awarded Britney for all of the years she has dedicated into her career. She has made wonderful vidoes that should have been awarded. For example, toxic and I'm a slave for you.MTV should let the fans vote for the nominees and decide who takes the moonman home.

I was so surprised that My Prerogative and Do Somethin' were not nominated. I just expected it. My Prerogative was like a really cool mini movie. It was just like one of the greatest looking vid's out there. Cinematically and visually.

You need to at least honor her for lifetime achievement. I mean come on, Destiny's child hasn't sold nearly as much as Britney and on some award show they gave them an award for accomplishing so much. Britney has accomplished 10 times more. a nomination or some sort of honor would be nice...i mean come on...she is the artist with the most days having videos on TRL....she holds the record by 300 and some days..her vids and songs have had enormous success....4 cds debuting at number 1. A Greatest hits album that has sold over 6 million copies...when fans prolly have all the songs on other CDs already. She always gets forgotten and deserves a VMA.

Last years VMAs were a huge let down when the performances were boring, the hosts were lame, and Britney was robbed of four Video Music Awards... The woman is a Grammy winning icon! I think Brit is great and was completely suprise that she wasn't nominated for a VMA this year. With 2 videos (do somethin' and my prerogative) I was completely shocked she didnt get at least one nod this year. I dont think MTV's nominations were any good this year. Britney hasn't had the best material out this year BUT she is a great preformer, a great artist, and she always seems to be overlooked at the VMAs...but this year, she should of at least gotten the nomination, although she probably would of gotten screwed out of another VMA award again. Humor us, here. Even though she never wins these MTV awards, Britney is an outstanding artist with stylish and revolutionary videos who deserves, at least, to be nominated.
Plus, as many others have said, Britney always makes the VMAs grrrreat with her performances--whenever she doesn't perform, the show is just whack. Last year's show, for instance, was totally unwatchable. Please re-consider the nomination.
