Broken Sword is one of the most beloved series of point & click adventure games from the genre's heyday over 10 years ago. The advent of the 3D gaming brought a rise in the popularity of action games and began a huge slump for the adventure genre, however the fans of Broken Sword and it's creators, Revolution Software, maintained the brand throughout these tough times and while many other franchises and studios withered and died, Revolution survived thanks in part to it's devoted fanbase.

In more recent times the popularity of adventure games has begun to rise once again and in response the Broken Sword fanbase petitioned Revolution to go back to their roots and release an updated, 2D, old school Broken Sword for new platforms.

The petition was successful and Revolution began work on their first new Broken Sword - Broken Sword: DIrector's Cut, a large update and remastering of the original classic.

However the publisher, Ubisoft, saw it unfit to bring the first new 2D Broken Sword in 12 years to the home of the franchise and the platform where the vast majority of it's fans currently reside: the PC/Mac.

This, therefore, is a petition to Revolution AND Ubisoft to repay the dedication of their fans by bringing THEM this new title as well as new users on the Wii and DS.

A PC version of the game is already complete, through Ubisoft, Steam or self-publishing the wider Revolution fanbase deserves to be able to play it.
