It's all about politics. MTV is not what you think it is. MTV gets paid for every single video that they play...more times a video is played simply means the more money MTV was given to play it. It sucks I know but it's the truth. If BSB is not putting up the money for the videos, they won't be played...end of story. I personally give them props for not giving in to the ridiculousness of the whole scheme. They know their fans will love them regardless of the videos on MTV and that's why the videos are available elsewhere for our enjoyment.

i know that there was a time when Total Request Live used to actually about REQUESTING VIDEOS that viewers wanted to see on mtv. somewhere along the line that got lost in the shuffle, and i just don't understand why. regardless of what artist it is, backstreet boys or not, viewers should be assured that their votes count! otherwise, it's all just a big lie. and then, what is even the point of giving us the option of voting?

Dear MTv, I was schok when I learn that you coundn't or wouldn't play the Backstreet Boys new videos for unnone reason from your part. I just wanted to say that we as fans of the Backstreet Boys or any other fans or any group,we have a right to vote for who we want to lisen and what we don't.I don't think it's fair to juge the guys or they music cause your affair that 'pop music' will make a comeback. The real meaning of 'pop music' it's what in this year but not a musical genera. Hope that petition will change something in the way you see the channel Mtv...

This is absolutely absurd. Honestly, MTV started blowing up DUE TO the "pop explosion" so in actuality, MTV should be pumping artists such as the Backstreet Boys more now that ever to boost ratings. It is well known and agreed upon that MTV's lineup has greatly increased in TV shows and is somewhat a joke in reference to being a "MUSIC" channel. MTV started out on pop music. They are trying so hard now to re-create the channel by I assume in their eyes gearing more towards an alternative, more mature crowd. I myself am 21 years old and obviously a BSB supporter smong many others. MTV could use a little more variety, honestly. At any given moment, I can turn and expect to see Green Day, Hilary Duff (who most would categorize as POP), My Chemical Romance or the like. While these are all gret artists, MTV can notalter the viewer's minds of what they want to listen to. And has that not been the essence of shows such as TRL ? The VIEWERS pick what they want to see. MTV needs a huge reality check.
MTV should play BSB if their video is voted for enough. And since BSB have the BEST fans in the world I'm sure the videos are voted for more than enough!!! KTPSPA!!

OMG it is soo great that someone finally does this! MTV is really pissing a lot of people off. They have NO RIGHT to choose what we listen to or what we don't listen to. If WE want POP to come backthen POP will come back with or without their help. We will just have to tune into VH1 and the radio stations.
