MTV is a music televison channel, therefore, they go by whats popular, what the fans ask for, and what its alright to air on television. MTV has NO right to refuse BSB or any other band airplay.

MTV is a Crock of Sh*t! They say they don't play pop then what the heck is Hilary and Ryan doing on their countdown right now. MTV is for all Music and it does not give MTV the right to single out a group just because they don't want them on there. It is not up to MTV it is up to the Viewers.. thats why TRL was made for the FANS of all type of MUSIC. Clearly there is enough votes for JWYTK as there are over 2000 signatures on this Petition. BSB we will continue to support you in all your music and we all will fight till the end untill MTV decides to be fair and reasonable and be the Music Channel they claim to be! You need to play everything, not just what you think people should listen too...you play pop, but shun certain groups...a lot of what you play is total crap, but I choose not to complain about that....The Backstreet Boys are not crap, have the record sales to prove it...they are being requested....you should do as the title of the show says and show what is requested, not what you think should be played. Talk about trying to control the airwaves. As if it's not bad enough that your entire station is anything but music (with the exception of a few miscellaneous shows here and there), you now try to supress artists that obviously aren't going anywhere. Let's see, BSB has been around for 12 years now...I think you should give up on trying to supress POP MUSIC. Pandora's box was never shut. Jessica Simpson never vanished and she is pop. Ashlee Simpson is pop. Your "points" and "reasoning" are BS. I thought TRL was a show the FANS controlled? Apparently your definition of "fans" is corporate MTV. Glad I caught on!
I think BSB should have their video at number one every single day because they never have to stoop so low and degrade themselves by using profanity or sexuality to enhance their videos. Their pure talent and love for their fans makes them number one in my heart.
i think the backstreet boys should be allowed to be shown on mtv, especially total request live...because TRL is based on what the people vote...and if the people vote BSB and they are number one again someday, then i guess the people wanna see BSB on MTV...but it shouldnt be forbidden...what other music is forbidden on MTV? and why is it forbidden? what is the reason why BSB is forbidden? i heard because they are too old....well...i dont know i understand MTV as a station that plays pop rock alternative rap r and b and probably some others im forgetting...but pop is one of those i listed...and BSB are under this category of music...so as long as its the style MTV plays..then it really doesnt matter how long ago they had their first hit or how old they are within the group.

I love bsb and If what I have heard about MTV...Im so glad we have good music. you guys should be a shamed of yourself for doing that to all the fans that use to love your show... How the hell could MTV even think about not playing BSB on TV? It is because of BSB that MTV is as popular as it is today.... they owe them that much as to play BSB's music! It is illegal for any station to ban any type of music which is not federally regulated by the FCC, and BSB certainly IS NOT BANNED by the government.... so why would MTV ban it!!?!?
