This petition is to ban the Breed Specific Legislation. The BSL is exactly what it sounds like...regulation of your right to own or, in many cases, not own a dog based solely on the breed or "type" of dog, not your responsibility as an owner. Dog problems are generally problems with owner responsibility and are not limited to breeds. When breeds are singled out as dangerous or vicious, responsibility is removed from the dog owner which is where it belongs. Irresponsible people are also less likely to follow the law - and as a result, everyone has to suffer. Help take action to ban the BSL a.k.a. Bull **** Law!!!

90 2 weeks ago    Rachelle Vance: I support this petition. I have owned my 3 year old Blue/White female since she was a puppy. She loves my kids and sleeps with my cats. Three days ago, I adopted a deaf white pit bull that is about 5 months old. I love this breed! People need to understand it is the irresponsible owners that they should be afraid of, not the breed of dog. The same irresponsible owners will only get another breed and destroy it's reputation as well!

Those in charge of BSL need to spend more time on educating themselves on dog breeds, or perhaps on banning certain types of owners.

I have two pits and mine are big babies and love people and kids of all ages. they sleep with the kids to watch over them while they sleep. never shown aggression to anything or anybody.
