Resignation but also impeachment is long over due. In the constitution it says, "in Order to form a more perfect Union" we shall "promote the general Welfare...and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." Mr bush has done neither of these things. Not only has he overlooked the vast majoority of citizens but he has trampled on the constituion. He has taken many gambles: like the war in Iraq, abandoning the UN, not spending money and planning for the hurricane, social security, guantanoma bay, deregulation of industry, some he has gotten away wiht but ultimatley he is gambling away our taxes. despite his religious piety he is a compulsive gambler and i ahve had enough.

worst men who have served in the office - it's just that they didn't serve during our lifetimes - but then again after reviewing the short list - maybe he is the worst in recorded history! But then again what can one expect for a hateful little man who choose to use hate and division to win election to the highest office in the land and we the people let him do so because we were fearful of our fellow Americans! Should we have expected any move them what he has offered to date - I think not - in fact I do believe the country is reaping what it have sowed and it is most distasteful! The people in this country need to stop thinking about themselves as individuals and begin thinking about the sociality as a whole - America needs to put itŐs house in order! After all, when all is said and done, we the people are all in the same small lifeboat called America! We all need to look at the bigger picture and ask ourselves if the tables were reversed would we be content? And finally a good place to start would be too... 1. Repeal the new bankruptcy law! 2. Reinstate the minimum wage in the affected area! 3. Stop talking about a minimum wage and start talking about a living wage! 4. Stop and then Reinstate the bush tax cuts! 5. Require companies who had moved off shore to avoid taxation to again pay there fair share plus fines for their un-American actions! 6. Put this nation back on a pay as you go format! 7. Impeach bush and company 8. After impeachment let bush and company serve time for their white collar crimes! 9. Start to look out for America before looking for glory in wars fought in far off places! 10. Look for the good in people before you look for the worst in people - remember we are our brothers keepers and we haven't been doing a very good job of it for a very long time! When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty -Thomas J

The people of New Orleans are not refugees they are Americans! I am appalled that Americans are being called refugees but why wouldn't they be called refugees when our "President" treated them like people from a third world country? They would have been better off if they were not Americans - they would have gotten aid much quicker since we seem to take care of people from other countries better than we take care of our own! I am ashamed to be part of a country that treats her own the way the people of New Orleans were treated - no food, no water - no hope ... Laura Bush can defend her husband until the cows come home, but if the people in the Super Dome were in a different financial bracket they wouldn't have waited for days and days without food and water - if they were of a different financial bracket there would have been Navy ships on the way to help them BEFORE the storm struck. Do the right thing - FIRE the people in charge of FEMA - don't spend our money on another Ken Starr investigation - spend it on helping the people of New Orleans, Mississippi and Alabama.

I grew up on the gulf coast, and hunkered down during many a hurricane in my childhood. Of course, there were never such dire warnings in place before any of those. There was no warning (well for the general public anyway) before 9/11, but there was plenty of warning before Katrina. WHERE WAS THE NATIONAL GUARD? Oh yeah, invading a foreign country that was not a significant threat to us. As a travel agent, I have opportunity to see many different countries and cultures, and I was embarassed to be an American when I traveled to Europe last year. My european friends all asked me if I voted for you. Of course I told them "No", but we are being seen as ignorant, fanatical, warmongers to our international neighbors and that is simply unacceptable. Bow out gracefully, and RESIGN NOW> BRING OUR HEROES HOME, WE NEED THEM HERE TO PROTECT US, NOT IN IRAQ.

I am saddened when the country I love cares more about impeaching a president over lying about his private sex life than impeaching a president whos lies cost lives. I personally cannot understand how he sleeps at night. However, according to Laura he has no problem because the president of the United States of America goes to bed by 9 every night even when soldiers he sent to Irak are not sleeping in their beds and may very well never again. I love my country and that is why I never voted for a C student to run it.

Your legacy will be this war, which will go on for 20 years and for the way you puffed up the rich and subjugated the poor of this country. The reality is the petition will not make bush resign! However in 2006 & 2008 we all should vote for GOOD Democrats. Bush & conservatives speak of tax cuts and less govt. Now this disaster has shown us it's not about LESS govt or Big govt or More govt. It's about govt. that WORKS for the PEOPLE! Democrats aren't perfect but at least they have a good attitude, they want the govt to HELP make America better. Where con's only goal is to get their taxes down to a minimum and have the govt to the LEAST it can for people! -------------------- Lieutenant Commander Sean Kelly of the US Northern Command in Colorado (where the "relief effort" is being coordinated) speaking on BBC World News this morning: "NorthCom started planning before the storm even hit. We were ready for the storm when it hit Florida because, as you remember, it crossed the bottom part of Florida, and then we were planning, you know, once it was pointed towards the Gulf Coast. So what we did was we activated what we call defense coordinating officers to work with the state to say okay, what do you think you'll need, and we set up staging bases that could be started. We had the USS Baton sailing almost behind the hurricane so that after the hurricane made landfall its search and rescue helicopters would be available almost immediately. So we had things ready. The only caveat is, we have to wait until the President authorizes us to do so. The laws of the United States say that the military can't just act in this fashion, we have to wait for the President to give us permission." -------------------

The Bush Administration is accountable for the disgraceful lack of response to Hurricane Katrina. In the five years that Bush has been in office, the poor have gotten demonstrably poorer and we are less prepared for catastrophes than we were before 9/11. It should be obvious to everyone now that if disaster strikes, you're on your own -- especially if you're poor. The Administration can't be bothered to come back from vacation and suspend shoe shopping long enough to even see whether the reports in the media about thousands of people dying without food and water (in the richest nation in the world!) are true. If the Bush Administration pursues the tactic of trying to blame the beleaguered state and local governments of the Gulf Coast for this tragedy, I can only hope that the people of the United States will finally stand up against this elitist, uncaring, and clueless Administration, a regime that is systematically destroying the lives of many who voted the incompetents into office. When is America going to wake up and throw these bums out?
