The visually handicapped in Singapore usually need to rely on the assistance of others around to board the correct bus. Should they be alone, they would be faced with difficulty in identifying the correct bus. It is this inconvenience that may cause the visually handicapped to avoid taking the public bus, which is a relatively cheaper means of transport.

This is an appeal to the Land Transport Authority to provide audio announcements to commuters, converting the visual information on the electronic signboards (already present at several bus stops) to audio output. This new facility would and make traveling easier and allow the visually handicapped to be more independent.
