We, the undersigned, are requesting a comprehensive infertility insurance mandate for the State of California. The current mandate does not require that all insurance companies cover infertility diagnosis or treatment. The mandate states that employers and insurance companies can only offer coverage, which many do not. Furthermore, the current mandate excludes IVF, a procedure that may be a couple's only hope for childhood. Infertility affects millions. Please don't deny a person's right to be a parent.

Michelle L. Johnson | It's not fair that those who really desire to have children have to fight so hard. It could take ones savings to finally achieve this dream. Infertility should be included in medical insurance!

Dinah Jarata | I support this petition. IVF should be or even partially covered. Fertility should be considered a disease and having it covered would help so many people financially. One IVF TX at Kaiser is $12,000. I think they forgot the whole principle of helping people, all they care about is making money.

veronica | I'm not infertile, however I am a carrier of a genetic disease. In order to not further the disease in any male children, we need to do IVF w/PGD, which is not covered. Please consider all individuals in need of treatments infertile or not, but only option.
Stacy Canez | IVF should be a basic benefit in medical coverage. I suffer from a chronic medical condition and this disease caused infertility at 28 years old. My only chance is IVF. There are hard working people who should have the option of IVF treatment, at least 50%! My husband and I are trying to find ways to afford IVF and we may have to sell everything we worked for to pay for IVF. All families are affected by infertility. If you don't have anybody in your family, imagine what it would be like to not have a chance to have children!!

Jennifer French | There is no way to express the pain of not being able to conceive, and not being able to do anything about it because you can't afford it! Our insurance didn't even cover the testing for a diagnosis, let alone any treatment. Please hear our pleas for help!

konsha | Infertility is a growing and common problem. It is as common as Diabetes. Insurance coverage should be made mandatory if not 100% at least to 75%.
Lauren Hardman | California should be at the fore front of this issue. Woman should be covered for IVF no question.
