I support this petition. Please assist us in this cause that is effecting more and more Americans as the age in which trying to conceive is getting older. Struggling with infertility is one of the most stressful experiences of my life and financial aspect just makes it several times worse.
I support this petition. Being a young woman with infertility, I understand the emotional and physical (not to mention financial) hardships of infertility. It hurts, and the costs hurt even more!
I support this petition. My husband and I would love nothing more than to have a baby but we are unable to. We have been blessed that my insurance covers diagnostic testing and a portion of treatment but as many have mentioned, IVF is not covered. This may be the only means for us to have a child naturally and we cannot afford it. Infertility should be treated the same way other diseases are. We did not choose to deal with this.
I support this petition.to the greatest extent myself being one who needs help with coverage of the only way i can have my child naturally. It just is not fair game if no insurances are willing to cover fertility issues, it's really sad and upsetting knowing the millions of couples out there who need help but can't afford it and then puts the completion of they're family/life on hold for many more years when by that time prices increase more. I do hope and think it is time for the insurances to extend a helping hand and make it possible for us couples who struggle emotionally, fincially, and physically with wondering the hows whys and why don't theys of this journey.
I support this petition. My husband and I went into $18,000 worth of credit card debt to try and get pregnant- not one dime was covered by our insurance, and it's the best policy you can get with Kaiser. I would have tried again, but couldn't afford it. It is insane that it isn't covered- it is the only way I can get pregnant with my diagnosis, at 34 and in early menopause.
I am infertile because of a disease I was unaware I had which has destroyed my tubes making it impossible to conceive. It is unfair that I pay so much for health insurance that won't cover IFV, my only option. I believe if you are infertile due to a disease then IVF should be covered automatically. Who wants to bring a child into this world in serious debt because the only way to afford treatment is to take out loans. I am 33 yrs old and have been trying to conceive a child for 9+ years. I guess my insurance would rather cover all the psychiatric treatment I will need if I am unable to conceive. It is frustrating, devastating and complete disppointment to not be able to conceive a child when that is what you entire life revolves around...
It's not fair that those who really desire to have children have to fight so hard. It could take ones savings to finally achieve this dream. Infertility should be included in medical insurance!
I support this petition. IVF should be or even partially covered. Fertility should be considered a disease and having it covered would help so many people financially. One IVF TX at Kaiser is $12,000. I think they forgot the whole principle of helping people, all they care about is making money.
I'm not infertile, however I am a carrier of a genetic disease. In order to not further the disease in any male children, we need to do IVF w/PGD, which is not covered. Please consider all individuals in need of treatments infertile or not, but only option.
IVF should be a basic benefit in medical coverage. I suffer from a chronic medical condition and this disease caused infertility at 28 years old. My only chance is IVF. There are hard working people who should have the option of IVF treatment, at least 50%! My husband and I are trying to find ways to afford IVF and we may have to sell everything we worked for to pay for IVF. All families are affected by infertility. If you don't have anybody in your family, imagine what it would be like to not have a chance to have children!!
There is no way to express the pain of not being able to conceive, and not being able to do anything about it because you can't afford it! Our insurance didn't even cover the testing for a diagnosis, let alone any treatment. Please hear our pleas for help!
