The animation I can live with, a neat idea that got old after the first show. However, the voice acting? Some of the worst I've ever heard. The material is horrible, not a single funny joke in there. The characters themselves are incredibly annoying. At first I thought this show was going to make fun of those wacky sitcoms with goofy characters and crazy plots... this IS one of those wacky sitcoms. They're not making fun of the format, there show IS that format.
Terrible. Absolutely terrible.
I hate this show with a passion. I don't understand why AS is bothering to give this show a second season. Tim and Eric should be shot for making such a bad show.

You know what's really sad? While this show is being picked up, Venture Brothers, a genuinely funny show that's leagues above it, has a very good chance of being cancelled.
What is wrong with those people at Cartoon Network?

Well instead of whining about it i'm gonna ask them at the q&a thing there having. If we all want them to stop it we need to tell them directly. But not every member needs to say it, if it gets said by somebody then don't keep asking, it'll only get on there nerves. What we really need to do is see how many ppl exactly, want this show off the air and give them that number and see what they say to it.

it's just.... nothing in it is funny. it's annoying. and if i have to listen to that freaky kid sing the bleeping song in that ww2 ep one more time i swear i'll buy myself a ticket to altlanta and go tear someone's gut's out with a spoon! oh and one more thing, i actually joined the boards because i needed to express the fact that tom goes to the mayor is the least television worthy show since they gave paris hilton a series.

It's unfortunate that a show with such potential could've ended up so terribly weak in the end. The lameness is unmatched by any show on television, and so is the pseudo-humor. This show gets lost in its creators, who believed that it could be an ironic kind of funny with very few jokes and dialogue that could easily have been written by someone who doesn't even know english. Unlike the original episode of Sealab featured on the first season DVD, you can't see through the crappy visuals and values to a show that could thrive. This is pure and unadulterated crap, and it's unfortunate that it replaced the likes of Space Ghost or the Brak Show.

Personally... the TGttM and SMC can both lick my danglers. They were two crappy shows that [adult swim] thought were a nice idea... when they were wasted. Now that they're sober it's time to pull the plug.
Both these shows... yes, I watched them. My eyes wished to be poped with a hot soldering iron because TGttM was... for lack of a better word: crappy. Actually, even if I had a better word, it'd still be crappy. You have nonmoving images just... taken one frame at a time, recycled 8 ZILLION TIMES PER EPISODE.... oh yes, you can tell. South Park started out like this, but it had a vauge plot with plenty of cussing and swearing to keep us amused until it got to the better animation days of now.
Super Milk Chan... uhh... just blow her *bleep*ing head off with a sawed off shotgun in her final episode. And we'll all have closure.
OK, let's see, Tom Goes to the Mayor, the ways I hate you.
My major gripe is simple. It's pusedo-intellectual. By making visuals that look like crap and dialouge that runs slower than a 90 year old in a marathon, Tim and Eric try to justify their show as smart and its detractors as dumb. Well, I know what art is, and Tom is NOT art. What it is is simply lazy. The dialouge is not artsy, it is boring and monotonous. Making everyone men isn't a stylistic choice, it's proof girls wouldn't be involved with this trainwreck.
So Tom, you're not art. You're just trash.
Last night that rancid rotting stench of TGTTM started to make it's way onto my TV, luckily I only saw AS's intro bragging about the impending poop they were about to try to smear on my TV. As usual, the channel was changed permanently for the night. Since I was not entertained by great shows anymore I had time to think...Why isn't this complete garbage off the air so something that actual makes more than 1% of viewers laugh can be in those slots? Because for all the hate being posted here AS will do as they darn well please, so long as they are FUNDED to do so.

e creators of Family Guy actually have a crew of talented writers and animators. Tom goes the mayor has two ambiguously gay dumbasses with a photoshop filter running the show. Have you seen them "work"? AS pays them to dance like dumbasses on company time and make a stupid one frame per minute cartoon. Does that not strike anyone as just wrong? I swear if you dance like that in public you would get pounded into a bloody pulp. I'm surprised crews from Space Ghost and Brak Show didn't become irate, disgruntled employees and burn the building down after being replaced by this piece of crap. Space Ghost was good and Brak I could put up with. Why didn't managers take the 5 bucks to make TGTTM and buy something more useful? Like a rope to hang themselves with after AS drops into the toilet.
There's no way to explain it to the fans how much this show **bleep**. I've come to the conclusion they just have hard on's or something for Tim and Eric.
Five reasons off the top of my head why this show is terrible. one: the best joke it has had was about beartraps and took 15 minutes to deliver. two: one of their jokes was saying spaghetti wrong. three: the animation **bleep**. four: one of their commercials has a gay guy wearing super tight spandex so he can flaunt his balls towards the camera. five: This show has never made me laugh.
The point is this: Tom goes to the mayor is a terrible show... with no animation... and terrible plots. Nevermind the fact that after how many weeks of this show's existance.. they have only aired like 3. The fact is that this crapy show is taking airtime away from other, more worthwhile shows. All anime is G.A.Y so i'm not talking about that. If i had the reigns of [as] the lineup would be this: Futurama (1 hour) Family Guy (1 hour) Aqua teen (1 hour) Sealab (1 hour) Space Ghost Coast to Coast (1 hour) Then i would split the final hour in half between Aqua Teen and Sealab. All anime s*ucks... and all of [as]' shows blow except for the ones mentioned above.
A show like "Tom Goes" which is completely untested and unproven in any form 'rates' prime time viewing status from the Williams Street Suits while shows with better story, and more artistic credibility, as well as successfull commercial franchise's are seemingly lost in Late-nite limbo for viewing by insomniacs. (Nothing against Insomniacs mind you.)
I'm a pretty eclectic viewer... I like AS's lineup, Comedy and Action, Anime and otherwise. But "Tom Goes" needs to Go.. It is the only thing that makes me turn off AS.. even it's commercials make me stop watching.

I've been an AS fan for years. Have many tapes of almost everything they've aired. (I'm up to Volume 11!) Some of the shows are great, some are okay, but Tom Goes to the Mayor is the only one I've seen so far that I actually hate passionately, because seeing it causes me real emotional suffering.
Even Perfect Hair Forever was better than this, and it was SUPPOSED to **bleep**.
This is my first post here. I didn't come on specifically to bash TGTTM, it's more like I was so taken aback by the show that I needed to reach out and come to terms with it. I watched it and wondered, 'Is it me? Am I not getting it? Is this as horrible as I think it is?"
This board has vindicated my revulsion, which makes me feel a little more reassured about my own sanity.
Seriously though, I can actually sit through Super Milk Chan. I don't like it, won't tape it, but I can usually sort of enjoy watching each episode once. At least it has the excuse of being Japanese, so maybe there's a reason I don't adore it due to cultural differences. At least it's weird and unexpected.
But Tom? I literally CAN'T watch it for more than a few minutes. I really thought it was a joke the first time I saw it. I had to rewind the tape and make sure it was really only a twelve-minute show, since it seemed to last over an hour due to the pain of it.
Please, AS, for the love of God, cancel this show and shun Tom and Eric. They do not deserve to have careers in entertainment.

Tom Goes To The Mayor lacks any humor. Cancel it, fast, PLEASE! I love random, senseless humor, but TGTTM is awful. There is no wit, intelligence, or origninality about it. It's such an obvious comedy, they were tyring WAY TO HARD. Not cool, not funny, no, no good.
I seriously believe that TGTTM should be cancelled. The extreme and utter stupidity of the show is enough to get it banned from cable for actually making people dumber. If you people actually watch that show and like it, I pity you all. The plots are retarded, the animation, though unique, is distracting and confusing. The plot that it distracts the viewer from, however, would be worse if you knew everything that was going on. You just don't get that chance because of the annoying animation. It's a real pity AS spends so much time, money and energy advertising such a worthless P.O.S. show as TGTTM. I'd rather see those irritating Sponge Monkeys from Quiznos have their own program. At least their non-sequitor lyrics were almost amusing.
