Citizens For An Event-Free Television!
Published November 11, 2010
If "LOST" and "24" had a baby...and it turned out to be a complete disappointment. If "V" and "Flash Forward" took a dump...it would rot for a week or two and then we'd have "The Event." The worst show modern television has ever produced. Bad writing. Bad direction. Bad acting. "The Event" achieves this rare trifecta of horrible, horrible TV.
This goal of this petition is to help put "The Event" out of its misery. The show's rapidly declining viewership (an average of 500,000 - 1,000,000 less viewers each week), embarrassing plot holes, and a weekly laugh-out-loud blunders, its time to lay this crap to rest. For the sake of the writers, producers, actors, and people who have nothing better to do on Monday nights than watch TV, please sign this petition. Once we reach 100,000 signatures (which shouldn't be hard, considering 5.65 million viewers have left the show between its first and seventh episodes) this petition will be forwarded to NBC.
Oh, NBC. First Conan O'Brien, now "The Event"? Shame on you.
To make this experience more fun for the signers, feel free to submit a note along with your signature or email CANCELTHEEVENT@GMAIL.COM with your favorite gripe about the show. It could be a nonsensical plot hole, moment of bad acting, or overall complaint about the show. All notes will be forwarded to NBC along with the petition.
Thanks, and -- God willing -- this show will not be renewed for a second season.
Every cent earned by signing this petition will be donated to an arts-related charity in Los Angeles. NOT the Church Of Scientology.
