And please don't mention the AFL....Billy Shaw played 10 years in the AFL only...and he was inducted a few years ago!Let Gino in...the man was a great player..and deserves to be in Canton! Thank You!
How could Gino not have already been inducted? His career is one to be held up, to all, as an example of greatness. The best players belong in the Hall of Fame, so make it right and induct
Gino averaged 9.5 points per game over a 6 year period and 7.5 points per game over a 10 year period. He scored 20 or more points in a game 8 times. He scored 18 points or more in a game 10 times. Gino is the only player to account for at least 34% of his teams total points scored in a season 8 consecutive seasons.
Gino's versatility and value to the Patriots was one of the reasons the old AFL was able to establish itself as a formidable force and help the NFL become what it is today. Let's honor a very deserving contributor to Pro Football!
Gino Cappelletti was the face of the Patriots during the sixties. One of only three players to play the entire decade with the same team, starting every game the Patriots played, regular and post season, 142 in all. He was the only AFL player to score more than 1,000 points, and one of only twenty men that played the entire ten years for the league that made pro football what it is today.
