I don't understand how this can't be illegal if we're allowed to have chinchillas as pets. Why is it illegal to skin a dog or a cat but not any other animals?

Altough I support more humane fur-farming, I donot find it to be completely wrong. You mustrealize that if chinchillas weren't farmed,they'd probably die of fungus, predation, ortheir own stupidity. Chinchillas die all of thetime, so get used to it you babies. Wah Wah, myrodent is dead, oh no!

How could someone sleep at night knowing they killed poor little cute animals???!!!what did they do to them?????NOTHING!!!!Chinc hillas need to be saved. Looking at their adorable faces sitting in those 4" by 4" cages, you wanna pick them all up and take them home so nothing can ever happen to them. Those farmers have the choice to do that but obviously they can't see that as a possbility. I think those farmers need to get a taste of their own medicine.

As a chinchilla owner of almost 18 chins and person who does chin rescue and rehab, this act disgusts me. There is no cause to kill these animals for their coats. The times of doning animal fur should end as well as the unethical and inhumane practices of killing any and all animal for their fur.
With all the technology I cannot imagine why furiers cannot reproduce synthetically the natural fur of a chinchilla. Don't they realize synthetic fake fur lasts much longer and kills nothing, but maybe an immune system or two from the allergic material used to preserve even fake fur . . .
