because this is one of the most intellegent and well done shows on TV currently. I can't take anymore of this reality television, it's driving me nuts. Not to mention Geena Davis was spectacular as the first female president. If the marketing wasn't so bad for this show maybe more of us could have known when, and where the show would return after so many long hiatus's. This was the only ABC show I watched, so ABC has just lost a key 18-45yo demographic from me completely.
This is the most intelligent and awesome show I have seen in years. ABC didnt market it very well, the ratings are down because it took a hiatus, then came back on a different night and time and no one knew where to find it. This show is savy and smart, and Geena Davis is absolutely wonderful in this role. She is someone to admire and look up to, something America has not had in a long long time.
This show encountered early difficulties because it was not expected to be such a huge hit, so the first hiatus was to give them time to make more episodes. I think ABC made a mistake in trying to put "CIC" up against NBC's "ER" midseason. I watch both shows (actually, I Tivo them both). "CIC" was on a great night when it came out, so I believe that moving it to Thursdays was a grave error.
I truly believe this show could be a long-time hit for ABC, provided they have enough episodes to fill a season without taking one or two long hiatus. Also, put "CIC" back in its original timeslot, not opposite "ER" on Thursdays.
The show has terrific characters, infinite storyline potential, and a wonderful role model in Mackenzie Allen's character as the first female president.
ABC, please don't do us this grave injustice by pulling the show off the air!
Sign it up for another season, move it's timeslot from Thursday and give it the chance it deserves. It's hard to follow when and where to watch the show if it's only on every few months. Run it through a "regular" season and then compare your numbers.
Here's hoping you reconsider cancelling "CIC" completely. And if you can't bring it back, hopefully one of the other networks will see "CIC" for the long-time gem it can be and they'll pick it up after you drop it. A show like "CIC" doesn't come around every year, when new shows come out and flop after just a few weeks. "CIC" can - and should - run for the next six years... Mac's two years as interim president, and her first full term after being elected as POTUS.

ABC Impeaches 'Commander In Chief'
Show pulled for remainder of sweeps; no airdate for remaining episodes
LOS ANGELES -- The Allen administration, which started off with such promise, is coming to a rather ignominious end.
ABC has yanked its freshman drama "Commander In Chief" from the schedule for the rest of May sweeps after the show performed poorly in its new, and exceedingly difficult, Thursday time period. Newsmagazine "Primetime" will take its place at 10 p.m. ET Thursdays for the remaining three weeks of the season.
The pulling of "Commander In Chief" probably spells doom for the show's chances of renewal and puts a cap on a remarkable slide that sent it from sparkly new hit to probable lame duck in eight months. The series began life as the most-watched new show of the fall, and star Geena Davis won a Golden Globe in January for her portrayal of Mackenzie Allen, the first female president. Behind-the-scenes upheaval and a steep ratings decline, however, conspired to bring the show down.
The backstage changes came first, with ABC and Touchstone (both of which are owned by Disney) relieving creator Rod Lurie of his showrunner duties a few weeks into the season after production had fallen behind schedule. Steven Bochco ("NYPD Blue") took over the show, bringing in a number of new writers and adding "Blue" alum Mark-Paul Gosselaar to the cast.
Through November, though, the show was still averaging a robust 15.2 million viewers per week, the best of any new series to that point.
"Commander" was off the air until Jan. 10, and on its return its ratings took a hit thanks largely to the return of "American Idol" on FOX. Three episodes in January averaged about 10.8 mil
This is a wonderful show showing now only a woman can be in a leading role but it show to the girls of America that they too can dream of the presidency.
This is one of the best ideas for a show in a long time. I hope the network puts the resources it needs behind it. I know if they do the ratings will go up!

This show is great. I think it's about time that we had a woman President, even if it is just on TV. The speech writers for the show are fantastic. Keep this show on! A good idea to boost the ratings is to switch nights so it doesn't go up against the highest rated shows(IE: CSI, Without a Trace.) Put it on a Saturday night. There's nothing on Saturdays and it would have an easy chance of surviving.

I am also a big supporter of the show, and belive it or not i am ALSO Australian. I used to think that i was the only aussie kid who liked Commander and Chief. But i was wrong.

Every scene with Geena Davis is just so regal and elegant. The Set looks stunning and all the actors are great.

I am a 14 year old girl, so if they think they are attracting an audience which is too old, they are wrong. It would be a shame to see it go. I love Geena Davis. Anyway, I already bought the poster!
I support this petition. Commander-in-Chief is one of only 3 quality dramas in prime-time. It's well-written, acted, and directed, and it'd be a real shame to cancel it and let TV go into a vast wasteland populated by random reality shows.

I support this petition. I'm not thrilled with the so-called Hillary connections alleged for this and ABC, but even if all that were true... TV shows, especially commercial network TV shows, do not determine who I do or do not support politically. Regardless, CIC is a very good, quality show, and it deserves to stay around.

This is a great show with a wonderful cast. It deserves a better time slot than opposite House though. Monday night is the worst night on TV. Improve it by putting Commander in Chief there.
