May 13,06. It's no wonder the ratings are low - ABC keeps taking the show off then bringing it back on a different day and time without any publicity. TV Guide says it's now on Thursday at 10PM but it isn't!
ABC cannot cancel this show! It's amazing, not like one of those dumb shows, with no serious content at all, Geena Davis and the rest of the crew are doing a great job, I think cancelling Commander in Chief would be a BAD idea!
This show has not been given the chance to develop its characters and story lines. It has the important element of a female president, and to cancel this show , despite its early promise and popularity, indicates that this broadcasting company has no courage and no integrity. The show needs to be given a good solid time slot and not be sacrificed to the "idol" and "reality show" nightmares.
You will lose respect from many in your audience.
This is such a great show that is not only engaging and entertaining but has tremendous social and cultural import - its rare to see women being portrayed in leadership roles on television but this show fortunately bucks the trend. This is television at its best.
I like this show very much and I want to see it continue. I am a bit disturbed because it's time slot seems to shift around. I believe it is better to stick with a time slot, otherwise a very good show could be put opposite one that someone is equally committed to watching. When this happens for me, the show that moves is the one that loses. I'll record it and fast-forward through the ads, but it loses something in the process. I am sorry to see the West Wing go off and the two shows on the Supreme Court were great. What better way for people to learn about the inner workings of their government in a painless way. We need more shows of this type.
Thanks,
Marci
If ABC's stats show that CIC should be cancelled, they need new staticticians. Everyone I know loves the show. If ABC can't maintain some stability with the few excellent shows they have, many viewers may just decide to avoid watching anything on ABC, knowing that we may be left hanging at any moment.
I feel that there is so much talk of this great show being pulled is due to the sexism that still resides in america. If this show were about a male in this position of power being portrayed in the same excellent fashion that this wonderful woman, it would go on for years even if the ratings were subpar at best ie the west wing. This is sexism and political steering at it's ugliest.
I love the show, it has great writing, great acting. It's a show you need to pay attention to because the dialog is important, not like most of the mindless garbage on television right now. Most of all, I could watch it with my 12 year old daughter and not worry about inappropriate content and she could see a strong female character in a lead part.
could the shows cancellation be political. Is the fact that a woman in the white house doing a great job a threat to the upcoming election where Hiliary Clinton will most likely be a consideration. To my family this show was good entertainment with a quality cast and nothing more. give us back geena. A golden globe winner does not deserve to be cancelled.
Please keep the show going and remember advertisers there are more "older" baby boomers consuming and purchasing than 20' year olds and we have the $$$ to do so.
Put the show back on but make it cable - the truth is that she was doing better than Bush and most did'nt want to admit to it. Please bring the show back. Please.
Please bring this show back. If ABC can't then give it up to another network. This is a great show and you are not giving the public what they want to see. Enough of the reality garbage. Good shows need to stay on! This is the Best!
I love "Commander In Chief"! It has gotten a little "soap-opera-like" lately, and I preferred the political intrigue to the personal-goings-on. Also, I don't want to see a gay character. Otherwise, this was my favorite show - ABC is making a mistake in giving it a worse time-slot than it originally had on Tuesday at 8 PM CST. Thanks -
With great acting and an intelligent story line, my wife and I enjoy this show and are not happy about its being off the air. Maybe, with all of the reality TV BS and the resulting dumbing down of America, a lot of people found this show to be over their heads. Hell, do most people know the name of the actual Speaker of the House?
Commander in Chief is my favorite drama series and it would be a shame if it were cancelled. I can't wait until the next show and it's disappointing when they hold off the shows.
ABC is out of their minds to get rid of this show. I've never stuck up for a show like this in my life. I hope the true fans of CIC boycott watching ABC for this giant blunder. I know, I will.
Commander in Chief is an awesome program. Every week I sit on the edge of my sofa waiting for it to come on. I do not feel as though it has had the advertising that it needs. I think that the show got off to a slow start, and people that started watching it may have fallen off, but all of that has changed now, there is a definate direction and a strong story line. Let not drop such a wonderful and historic show.

ABC would do better than yanking this show off. It is one of the non-sensical shows and I have no clue as to why the show is on 1 week, off 10 weeks? Most discouraging for viewers and also quite frustrating
Please keep CiC on the air! It is a wonderful show that had great ratings in the beginning. The only reason the ratings slipped was because the show was put on hiatus! Keep Commander in Chief for another season!
because this is one of the best shows i have ever seen!!! this show was so good i find myself being interested in US Government and politics!! Because i love this show SO much. anticipating it everyday had become something that allows me to find a purpose in doing something productive. please kepp this show going; it's worth it, believe me.
It is painfully obvious that the network set the show up to fail: switching it to Thursday night, against ER and Without a Trace was not a positive move for the show. There are plenty of dead spots during the week, between 8 and 11 that will allow Commander in Chief to gain more traction.
because I believe that women need someone to look up to, and Commander in Chief provides that. And seeing a woman in the White House, has helped me more than ever to believe in myself, that I can achieve whatever I want in life, and am not limited by my gender.
This is one of the best shows on network television. It really gives me (false) hope that one day we'll have a government that actually cares about the people!
Bring back CIC! ABC just can't recofnize a good show. The show & the cast are first-rate. Perhaps, ABC wouldn't be the networks' underdog, if they made better programming decisions and were loyal to their shows. They never should have forced it into lower ratings by bouncing time slots.
