Microsoft has decided to take away choice from it\'s customers.
Untill now, all flavours of windows offered the choice to do away with the bell\'s and whistle\'s, added to each new version of Windows. And select the classic theme for both the Start Menu as well as the Desktop.

In Windows 7, much performance improvements have been made, but the choice to go classic was removed. So wether or not you like it, you must use the fluffed up new interface if you want to take advantage of the performance gain in Windows 7.

Simply put, Microsoft decided that everbody should just do what Microsoft wants, not what the end user and customer wants.
