Mr. President,

This is a letter from every man, woman, and child sitting in a jail cell anywhere in America. In light of your decision today to deem the sentence of Mr. Libby too harsh we are writing you a letter because we believe we are in the same situation. We realize that your commutation of his sentence had nothing to do with politics and that you simply believed in your heart that in this particular case, you knew better than the court that sentenced him. We urge you to review our case and give us the same opportunity that you gave Mr. Libby, because we are equal citizens under the law. We are very hopeful that you will review our case and realize where we were given too harsh of a punishment and commute our sentence as you did for Mr. Libby. We understand that you are a busy man, but we hope you can give us the same attention you gave Mr. Libby in reviewing our case and realize why we should receieve a commutation of our sentence as well. Thank you for your time.
