The Congestion Charge, What they say about it:

Congestion charging is a way of ensuring that those using valuable and congested road space make a financial contribution.

The London scheme requires drivers to pay £5 per day if they wish to continue driving in central London during the scheme‘s hours of operation.

Now... even people who live in the charging zones and own a car have to pay, they say residents get a 90% discount, but that’s not fair, there just not charging the residents for driving their car there also charging them for parking outside their house.

Anyway, we all have opinions, and this is mine.

not only do we now pay £8 to drive through london during the day, forget to pay and after 2 days you have to pay £50 and then £100 after 14 days. how is this even lawful ? who the hell keeps voting these bastards in ?

We already pay the highest petrol tax in the world, plus road tax insurance then they want to screw us for actually driving on the roads!

Road Tax, Fuel tax and insurance premium tax are already used as major sourcers of Governement revenue, and only a very small amount of this is used to benefit travellers. The UK motorist is already the highest taxed in the world, enough is enough! Congestion is caused by the Government's failure to address the failings of the Public Transport system. The new plans for nationwide congestion charges will not reduce congestion.

we already pay for use of the roads via petrol tax and road tax, very little of which is used in relation to roads or motoring.
