We, the undersigned, strongly and whole-heartedly believe that people under the age of 18 should not be disallowed access to Myspace, and similar social networking websites, in public schools, or libraries. Furthermore, we feel that by blocking these websites, or penalizing minors for using these sites in the aforementioned places, you are restricting their free speech.

What moronic jerk started this petition? It's patently obvious from the pathetic spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc, that school kids these days have absolutely no grasp of English any more. School is for study, not passing inane comments back and forward. Mobile phones should be switched off to prevent text messaging morons from sitting in class wasting away the day, and access to "social networking" sites has absolutely no place in education.

I signed this for two reasons; 1. There's no way this petition is going to make any difference (and you stupid if you think otherwise), and... 2. I just really wanted to drive home to you little kiddies that schools, inparticular, are a place of work, where you need to apply yourself, to get an education and make something of yourself so you can have some sort of future worth living. If you think Social Networking sites are going to get you there then you've got another thing coming - I reccommend you hop off the boat now and spare some oxygen for the rest of us. You're not at school all day (not even close enough in my books) so stop your whinging and maintain your superficial relationships online out of hours. Don't expect employers to allow you access to these sites when you finally leave school (if you get that far). Oh, by the way, I'm a Systems Administrator and everyday I take great pleasure in blocking access to sites like these AND many others to kids just like you... suck it up, you're 5 years old anymore...

i\'ll admit that i can see reason behind banning myspace in school..but as for libraries, i am fully against the ban. libraries are open to the public, meaning that their websites should also be open to the public. what about those without internet connection at home? we kinda depend on those computers.

Myspace doesn't harm anything or anyone. the only way a student can get on the computer, is if the teachers let us on!
