We're tired of seeing unoriginal Copy and Paste (C&P) winning the BC. Any C&P who wins the BC these days are those who get help from huge guilds, famous users or those who advertise 24/7, making it unfair to original artists who started from scratch and worked over 1 hour on their piece.

It's understandable if C&P cannot be removed from the BC as they go a long way back, but it would be more than heaven if perhaps C&P could be seperated into another category, making it more fair for those who did their work 100%.

GOAL: To seperate C&P into another category in the Beauty Contest. It sounds fair. We're not really trying to get rid of them, only put them into another category!

Cut and pastes are plagiarism. Say what you will, "Oh they can't scan things and they can't draw on the computer so they steal copyrighted pictures," it's just wrong. How could neopets possibly endorse it?!?! I have no clue.

I agree. Although I am not artistically gifted, I full enjoy trudging through the entries and voting for those who honestly deserve it. Nothing makes me cringe more than C&P. Fair enough people like me (artistically challenged) would LOVE to enter and win... but even a dodgy drawing is a better attempt than something that took five seconds to C&P. In my view art (or drawing) should always have a little effort put into it and to something that someone had no respect for disheartens me...

Generally speaking, it has been noticed that there are times when a Cut and Paste picture wins a beauty contest. That on its own is perfectly fine. However, the fact that they win _unfairly_ is another story. They have famous owners, guilds with nine zillion members, and/or owners that advertise 24/7 and beg peopl for votes until they give in to make em go away. This infuriates the public of artists who hand/computer draw and color their pictures, taking many hours for each one. By separating pictures into categories of either being an altered version of the original or an original piece of art, many participators will calm down and be much happier. And by doing so, more of the previous participants may return to enter their pictures again. In any case, the situation would improve if it was given serious thought. After all, the artists make up a vast proportion of the population of Neopia. Letting these cut and paste pictures run rampant is like letting stories that are utterly horrendous into the Neopian Times. Something needs to be done.

Agreed. It's about time something like this is put into affect. You should find it fair, we only wish for a compromise. In actuality, CAP's are in fact different then origional artwork. Please make note of that Neopets staff.

C&Ps should either be put into their own catergory or banned, but the theives and spammers should be destoyed!Beware, those who steal will reside with me in the firerey pits of hell with the demons picking at our skin and the burning hot flames licking at our clothing and devouring us, our bodies, and eventually our souls will be taken by the Devil himself...
