I have never and will never go to Bali or any other part of Indonesia. I will never give a dollar out of my pocket to Indonesia. I will not ever fly Garuda Airways or any other airline associated with Indonesia. I implore every other Australian to follow suit. I also hope that Bali does not witness an unprecedented upsurge in their tourism industry as a result of inevitable price slashing on Balinese holiday offers. Stay out of Indonesia.

Boycott Bali. John Howard needs to apply some diplomatic pressure to the Indonesian government and threaten to pull out all aid if she is not released. As Australians we gave a billion dollars to the Indonesians, the least they could do is release this innocent young woman.

schapelle shouldn't be exposed to the treatment that she has been given in the last 5 or 6 months. in 40 years she'll be 47, how is this providing justice at all? showing her that going to indonesia is a bad idea? robbing her or a husband and children? disallowing her to see anything but white walls and bars for the next 20 years. Where has justice been served here? this is an inappropriate punishment and i think that the indonesia government needs to know this. australia is never going to forget schapelle, we're also not ready for forgiveness... what about the millions we gave in aid? what about that? where is this fair?!!
I am mortified at the sentence handed down today. She would have been better treated if she had been a Terrorist Bomber. What is the Australian Government doing to track down the corrupt baggage handlers that destroyed the security tape at Sydney Airport. These people should be hunted down and treated the same. What happened to the Presumption of Innocence?
Surely there was enough overwhelming circumstantial evidence to cast more than an element of doubt of guilt.
The sheer stupidity of the Indonesian Customs officer in mishandling evidence beggars belief, not to mention the hypocrisy of the Prosecutor.
"Bringing the reputation of Bali into disrepute". Give me a break. Taking marijuana to Bali would make as much sense as taking curry to India. On top of that, when the spotlight was shone on Baggage handlers in Australia, what was found? A seething nest of the exact criminality cited.
Call me xenophobic (which I don't believe I am), though having spent several years living in Malaysia and Indonesia watching officialdom in action, I know enough not to protest directly to the Indonesian Government in case of possible reprisal, unless Schappelle's appeal is upheld, I will never travel to Indonesia again unless absolutely necessary.

After the Bali bombing, I actively and financially supported the Balinese. When the tsunami struck Aceh, I donated thousands of dollars, and with their embrace of democracy , I thought there was a true rapprochement between our countries.
Now, regardless of my regret for whatever disadvantage this may cause the Balinese, unless Schappelle's appeal is upheld, I will never travel to Indonesia again unless absolutely necessary. Furthermore I will urge my family, friends and acquaintances to do the same.
I don't care about the politics or the chance of prisoner exchange possibilities. And I fully accept the guilt of the Bali Nine. But, this is an evil decision, not only a travesty, it's a tragedy of epic proportion.

Schapelle Corby is one of the bravest young people I have seen in a long time. The way she has kept her compsure through all of this awful ordeal is inspirational, how she has survived these last months in a Bali Jail in squalid conditons, and then in court today when this unbelievable verdict was read out and her fate sealed. The Indonesian Justice system as far as I can determine is no justice system, this poor innocent young girl sent to prison for something that she clearly never did. The Australian Government have done nothing to help free Schapelle withholding evidence that could have made a huge difference to her defence.
Let's face it in Bali their so called court room is a 'kangaroo court', their legal system is a joke. Bali and everything Indonesian and Qantas should be boycotted, by ALL Australians. This could have been you or your sister, your daughter standing in that court room today. Schapelle we are all with you and will continue to support you and getting you free !
I just heard the verdict for Schappelle Corby, she has gotten 20 years jail! I cannot believe that anything like this could happen to someone so obviously innocent. First of all, why would anyone try and smuggle drugs into a country where the punishment is death? And by her reactions and emotions throughout her initial eight-month ordeal, I definitely believe that she is innocent. I only hope that she is succesful with her appeals in the future, to the higher courts.

Something is very clear now if you travel overseas you will be on your own if you get into trouble the government will not lift a finger to help as they have proven today with this terrible verdict given to Schapelle.
For sure I will boycott Bali and Qantas and I advise all fellow citizens who believe in Schappelle's innocence to do the same.

We all know that the kingpins of the drug world use a sacapegoat to get busted with a smaller amount of drugs whilst the real deal goes through unnoticed. I havent been following the case for that long. But to me i think schappelle is an amazing girl from what i know so far. She doesnt deserve such a sentence, i really did feel for her wishing that the indonesian law would allow her to come home where she belongs. I hope the indonesian government can find it in their heart to release her back into Australia where she truly belongs. She doesn't deserve such severe punishment. She and her family will constantly be in our prayers.
I have been following this case since it first started and always had hoped that the indonesian 'legal' system would find her innocent.
After a long time in Jail, Schappelle has been found guilty.
If the Indonesians think Australia is going to help them in the future, they have another thing coming!! To think that millions of people donated their hard earned money for the Tsunami appeal to help the indonesians.. and they do this to us. I think Australia is devestated by this news and will be highly unlikely to travel to indonesia again! Which in turn is going to hurt their economy, as the majority of visitors are australian. Good work Indonesia you have now crueled it for urselves!! This poor girl is suffering when she has done nothing wrong! I am not a religious person but all day I was praying that the Judges would see the truth and deliver a not guilty (should be innocent!) verdict today.
To think it could have been anyone of us who was made the unwittingly pawn in a drug syndicate that has gone wrong. How she has suffered the last 10 months while no doubted the syndicate and syndicate members have flourished and supplied their evil poison to our children and friends.
I vehemently oppose drugs, drug use and associated paraphernalia and do not condone drug use in any way - however it is clear that Schappelle is innocent! Schappelle has suffered a huge miscarriage of justice!
I am about to be admitted soon as a solicitor and I have followed this case has closely hoping that justice will prevail - I know the Indonesian "legal" (if you can call it that) system & the Australian Government has sadly failed her! An 11th hour letter by the AG is no compensation and was clearly a "little bit too late" while the Australian Government allowed her to be incarcerated in squalid conditions that you would expect to find in a a "third world" country.
The Australian Government should have supported her from day one and insisted (and paid for) forensic tests to be carried out to ensure due fairness and justice for Schappelle. Instead they sat on their hands and failed to do anything to help an innocent citizen. To rub salt in the wounds, taxpayers will be paying out the Governments $1billion aid package to Indonesia pledged for the Tsunami recovery. Pull the package I say! The Australian Government has no right to pledge such money if they can't even help their own citizens! Where was the funds contributed to Schappelle’s case? There wasn't! Questions need to be asked of the Australian Government about the handling of this case. Why weren't the Australian Federal Police called in to investigate the drug trafficking through the airports straight away. Surely they could have got a name of the people involved?? Or would that have ruined a money earner for somebody in power? As for the Indonesians... yes they have a legal system... but it has little to do with justice or seeking out the truth. What can we as the Australian community do to bring justice to this case and set an innocent young girl free.

It's unfortunate that the Indonesian judicial system has made this outcome given the evidence available.
Following the substantial loss of Australian lives as a result of the Bali bombings, the Indonesian judicial system gave harsh sentences to those involved with the creation of and placement of the bombing devices. However the mastermind behind the whole operation, who was found guilty, was leniently given a three year sentence.
What is the value of human life to the Indonesian people?
I’ve seen negative comments in this petition and have to ask the question, does it really seem fair?
I personally will be boycotting any travel to Indonesia and will not use any products or services offered by Indonesian business. I will implore anyone that I come in contact with to do the same.

It is a terrible sadness that a girl so young can be subjected to such a penalty if she indeed innocent. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to Schappelle herself. Even if this petition doesnt do anything, at least she can see that she has support from people of her own country. It does not surprise me that many people will reject Bali as a holiday destination.

The Indonesian judical system has seen a judge sentence over 500 accused drug smugglers guilty. The pride shown by this is wrong. Every case is indivual and should all be looked at differently as no to are the same.
I can't believe with all the evidence (or lack thereof) she is still getting 20 years. That "cleric" gets 2 years for killing how many people and admitting to it? Where is the justice??? Australia has to step in and stand up for her. She's innocent.. as plain as day!!!

It is frightening that Legal Systems put in place to effect 'justice' do just the opposite. That judges can be so arrogant and full of their own self-importance that the reality of a case is overlooked in favour of them using clever arguments within a narrow perspective to reach a conclusion. That in general members of the legal system are more concerned with their own blinkered application of law than the facts. This is the case in all legal systems, but the Indonesians must have a genetic deficiency that they cannot think outside the square. There is no question in my mind that Corby is innocent. I am boycotting all things Indonesian.
I have been travelling to bali for several yrs now and love the place!!!! but not only is the judicial system corrupt as the police there!!! This decision has made me so ****in angry i think Australia should just tell indonesia that they are on there own from now on!!!!

What kind of country gives a total of 30 months in jail to the Bali Bombers, who killed over 200 people, and then may possibly give the death penalty to a person who has protested her innocence from day one. We caucasions are called racists for sending people of different races to jail and picking on them, when the same thing is happening to us their countries. Shame, Indonesia, shame. Please, why this obsession with Schappelle Corby. There are hundreds of other Australians in jails around SE Asia and we hear nothing about them. So, this woman has a great PR machine that generates a huge amount of publicity and appeals to the lowest common denominator in Australian society. People blindly believe in her innocence and expect the media and government to follow, which is unrealistic. It's about time that journalists in this country stop bowing to public opinion and provide some truely investigative journalism. Let's find out the truth rather than foolishly be led by the PR machine. I personally could care less what happens to her. In a few weeks, she'll be forgotten and people will move on with their lives.
