Please release Shapelle Corby from yr jails and hand her over to the Australian government. This girl is wrongly accused and should be set free. Obviously this has been a set up somewhere along the line and its not doing your country any good to hold her there and try her on something where your country is showing no real proof of guilt.

I join this petition in support of this poor girl and her family. Her body language told me from the first news report that she was innocent this was supported by experts later. There is a lot of talk about finding evidence to support her innocence. I believe that the government should be saying give us the direct evidence that she was in control of the baggage the whole time and that there is know way that someone else could not of interfered with the baggage in that time and if you can't supply than she must be given the beneifit of the doubt. She hed no control over that bag while it was in flight and people ask who could have placed that dope in there. Well there is prbably hundreds of people who had the opportunity and someone who had the need and the reason and only they know why!! I would like a day of protest to be organised, a march on the government, get all the media involved march on every government house in the country, or a park somewhere and stand united.

The Australian Government should be taking responsibility for this. If they did there job properly they would be able to show that schapelle didn't have the pot when she left australia. Or if it was hers and the aus govt did their job properly, then she would be on bail in australia. Either way the govt has failed this girl or the australian people.

A different slant perhaps... Schapelle seemed innocent when interviwed on TV. I say this from my own professional experience and also note that the TV show had a specialist polygraph Private Investigator who said the same. One of the Indonesian Customs officers (a key witness) on the other hand seemed very untrustworthy - again based on my experience. The Indonesians have a legal system where possession is a critical factor in determining guilt. Besides being illogical and grossly unfair, it creates a situation whereby there is little incentive on the part of prosecutors to discover and prove that the person is in fact guilty. There is certainly no onus on them to do so. There is lot more the Indonesian prosecutors could do to prove the case. Some of these things would by default allow Schappelle a better chance of proving her innocence too. People have already commented on things not adding up above so I won't delve into them here. Maybe we can all draw some other conclusions from all this too. Why would we want to go on holiday, or on business, to a place where you can be at risk of a death sentence simply because of someone planting drugs on you? A place where the authorities have simplistic and illogical laws, and where they make no significant effort to uphold the basic principles of justice. It is not very nice or loving and does not inspire you with confidence. I for one will never go to Bali, nor Indonesia and actively discourage others from doing so. And no, I am not a "do gooder" or similar. I support a death penalty for certain types of drug offences (not cannabis), pedophilia, rape, murder and some other particularly nasty offences where there is absolutely no doubt about guilt. Go on holiday and do business elsewhere - spend your money and support places where they are fair.

FREE SCHAPELLE... Whether she is guilty or not is irrelevant to the fact that NO-ONE deserves to be tried for the Death Penalty on a DRUG charge… Murders get off all the time, Bali bomber themselves (killing innocent people) get more justice than Schapelle. How many more innocent victims need to be punished or die before the laws will change? There have been too many innocent westerners found guilty in ASIA for DRUGS when they are innocent. Indonesia NEEDS Australian tourist, so STOP pissing them off or else Indonesia will find their own people suffering.

Indonesia, the land were money buys freedom and for a working clas girl it is difficult. The country is in the dark ages still. I feel for this young lady. No one deserves the filth that she has to endure in that prison. Australia's Prime Minister John Howard gives aid to every country effected by a national diaster, if the shoe was on the other foot. Australia would not see a dollar from these countries. Australia's Government should buy this girls freedom. John Howard, what a disgrace!

American film and advertising companies should keep their production crews out of Indonesia, unless the Indonesians change this Bush-like policy. There are other exotic locations for film and photo shoots in much saner, and safer, countries. I, and my friends, will be leafleting all over this town (Hollywood, California) for the March 19 anti-war Mobilization in Hollywood "Out of Iraq"; and for the release of Schapella Corby! "Free Schapella!" We are expecting tens of thousands of people at this march. Schapella activists, please help!
