Whilst more important issues are going on in the rest of their country they'd rather jail innocent people like Schapelle. This has got to stop, here and now, whatever it takes.

Simon Fraser said 03/04/05, 4:32 pm (verified)
The liberal government is without courage. They are too worried about political overtones, to consider the rights of the individual. Their treatment of Ms Corby is typical of this government; lots of words but no action.
#1389

Jennifer Brett said 03/04/05, 4:17 pm (verified)
God bless you, Schapelle - keep fighting. I read on another board that it is not a good idea to wear such skimpy tops to Court - the Balinese find it offensive. Please play it by their rules, however primitive, and cover up. You are in my prayers.
#1388

Susan Crawford said 03/04/05, 3:50 pm (verified)
What a nightmare poor Schapelle must be going through. As a traveller I totally empathise with her situation. I have faith that justice will prevail though, and the Indonesian government should be put on trial for causing such heartache and pain for the entire Corby family.

Rochelle Staples said 03/04/05, 2:35 pm (verified)
How can our government sit back and do nothing in the name of "respect and Faith" in the indonesian governments judicial system. One that has proven inconsistant, and where punishments do not fit the crimes. Our government is too spineless to step on anyones toes without the skirts of the USA or UK to hide behind. Death penalty shouldn't even be an option, guilty or not. We need to get her out of there.

Angelique Combrink said 03/04/05, 2:14 pm (verified)
Disgraceful. If Corby were my child, I would move heaven, earth and hell to free her. Australia is my country of citizenship by choice. I come from South Africa. I feel that it is only just that we write our MP's, put huge posters over adverts to visit Bali on Travel agency's windows with slogans slandering visits to Indonesia. VISIT BALI AND DIE!!!SUPPORT BALI AND DIE!! radical behaviour from Australians against this injustice must be heard in any creative manner leagally possible. Threaten to stop paying taxes, because , lets face it, our taxes have gone and will still go to the Indonesians for the sake of " GOOD RELATIONS". When the Tsunami hit, our government was the first to proudly throw millions of $$$$$$$$$$$ away. This should have been the right timing for bargaining power to release Corby over that money. I have supported John Howard and his cronies. NO MORE. If any politicians daughter were sitting in their hell hole of a jail, guilty or not. I can guarentee, she would would be free today. After the predicatable unfavourable verdict is known, we as Australians must come back to this site and work out a strategy to cripple Indonesia. They have our taxpayers hard earned cash. They do not deserve anymore. Who else is sitting and rotting in their jails who do not deserve to be. I for one had contemplated visisting Bali to support those poor people. I will never put my foot in their country. Lastly, if we can petitition and change travellers choices, we are hurting them where they deserve to be hurt the most. MS.CORBY MUST BE RELEASED.

People are routinely fitted up by police in this country (Australia)for crimes they did not commit. Anyone who would prefer not to beleive this, read up on the 1964 conviction of John Button. In a country as corrupt and divided as Indonesia, where a police officer can be bought for A$1, and a human life for little more, that any rational human being could beleive Schapelle Corby is anything but the victim of a setup is beyond my comprehension. The reason for the frame up could be anything from a simple bribe collection scam gone wrong to another payback to Australia for Timor timur. (I was in Java when that unfolded and beleive me, the resentment was intense). Whatever the motivation of the Australian government was in E. Timor, 88 innocent Australians died in Bali as a consequence. None of the Sari club victims did anything to hurt Indonesians, and neither did Schapelle Corby.

Schapelle Corby has a lack of resource and motivation to procure expensive drugs for sale with little or no markup in Indonesia. In spite of this, the evidence regarding the alleged trafficking was not gathered or protected, corrupting her access to a fair trial, though these charges carry a maximum penalty of death. In any modern liberal democracy, this case would be thrown out. If you get to read this Schapelle, please be aware that you are in my thoughts often. You are not alone, and certainly not forgotten.

#1366

Andrew Madsen said 03/04/05, 8:36 am (verified)
Schapelle Corby was stupid taking her own board to Bali - it's a well known fact around surfing circles that Indonesian Customs and Police are corrupt and can't be trusted - if they don't like your face, you're a goner as you might have drugs planted on you. Has happened to too many innocent people in the past, a corrupt Government looking for scapegoats in a non-winnable drugs war. May a Tsunami wipe you bastards off the face of the earth for good, from Jakarta to Denpasar, and get rid of the Indo Government regime.

#1364

Richard Rosewall said 03/04/05, 8:07 am (verified)
It seems a shame that a country as large and as beautiful as Indonesia still has such a primitive legal system. Perhaps Indonesian Government officials should concentrate on more important issues like anti-terrorism and re-building a Tsunami devastated country, than emphasizing their zero tolerance policy for the soliciting and trafficking of social drugs. Don’t execute lives, save them!
