Signatures #6000 through #6100 for the Free Schapella Corby from Bali petition
Jo said 04/07/05, 8:28 am (verified)
How can you say FUCK Bali?? You have to respect the fact that each country has different laws. It's not for anybody to claim they know better. However I'm against the death penalty and whether or not Corby is innocent, she does not deserve to die.

I believe in her innocence and do not believe she deserves to die when there is a lack of substantial evidence and the strong possibility of the drugs being placed in her luggage by another person. We Australians take your laws very seriously and I cannot believe this young girl would take such a risk, get real!

There's an underlying problem here, not that Schapella has been found with Marijuana, but that there's a serious drug smuggling problem in this country.

Has her defense team contacted the airline she flew with between BNE-SYD to see how much she actully carried? I am in the airline industry and know that the airline should have a report of baggage weight for every person and also every flight. If they have this report, it would prove that the marijuana was placed in her bag by one of the baggage handlers!!

She didn't kill anyone, she didnt hurt anyone, she may not have even done anything wrong. It's so fkd up.

As for Indonesia...if only you cared for innocent Australians, the way we cared for your people in desperate times. Do not look at me to help boost your tourist economy any time in the near future!!!
#6023

Rod Cedaro said 04/07/05, 6:20 am (verified)
Given the support (expertise and financial) the Australian people have extended your country during the recent natural disasters Indonesia has experienced, coupled with the fact that the evidence against Ms. Corby is, at best, questionable and incomplete, it would be reprehensible if this poor woman was not set free - with an apology. Sincerely, Rod Cedaro
#6022

B. Deolive said 04/07/05, 6:19 am (verified)
It is beyond my understanding how someone like Ms. Corby, an australian who has probably never commited a crime in her life, be going through a redicules situation like this! - over Marijuana!! A friends relative was murdered, the murder received 4 years for his crime, and another friends elder brother received 7 years for theft! Yet, Ms. Corby may receive the death penalty!! - for Marijuana!?!? WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO!!! Fair enough, some countries have severe penalties for certain crimes but someone has to ask the question - WHO'S RIGHT IS IT TO DECIDE WETHER SOMEONE SHOULD LIVE OR DIE?? WHO'S ?? GET HER BACK HOME TO AUSTRALIA !!! Ms.Corby does not deserve to die, wether she is guilty or not!!!
#6021

Mari Kelly said 04/07/05, 6:18 am (verified)
It is obvious the marijuana was not hers therefore she should be deported to Australia. When the Indonesian citizen was given a ridiculously short sentence for killing all those people how is this justice? My family would now never go back to Indonesia

Liberal party please take note. I have been a card carrying member of the Liberal Party for thirty years. The way the current party members are/have reacted to the corby issue and not demanding that foreign con utries ALLOW all australians to be allowed to lock their travel cases is an absolute discrace. Until ALL the mermbers of this ultra right wing group of bible bashing po;iticiuans resign, I will npot give another vote to the party. Do what the Yanks would have done by now ---GO IN AND FORCIABLY bring her back to Australia. The ALL resign and ele ct an entirely new party. Rightly or wrongly - the treatment of this girl is a abuse of basic human rights - the penalty wanting to be imposed is excessive and barbaric in this supposed 21st century - i for one will not travell to a country where such backward practices are enforced. I do not agree with drugs - either using or selling - but you have to wonder about the sensiblity of the powers to be that allow a man who obviously had has the connections and the will to destroy so many lives a piddly two years in jail (aka the bali bomber) and then want to impose the firing squad for a woman who for all appearences has been framed but authorities - Free Ms Corby
