I believe that the Australian Government should be more involved and active in the release and extradition of Schappelle Corby. Instead they are "respecting the judicial system of Indonesia" which means that a young woman could be cruelly executed, most likely for a crime she did not commit. Politics should not stand in the way of the life of this young woman.
Anybody can drop the drugs or anything to anybodies bag. It's bit hard to find the real culprit. So you guys please release that innocent girl immediately.
This is a very poor showing for justice. Australians should boycoot anything from Indonesia until the legal and justice system is corrected. What have the Australin government done to help? What have the Australian Police done to investigate the miss shipment of drugs? Very poor effort Mr Howard!
Guilty or not, executing someone for pot is inhumane, and morally hypocritical when in contrast you only slap those with evil in their heart on the wrist.
Boycott anything Indonesian.
Corrupt, draconian, backward former holiday destination: Indonesia...asian country with self image problems showing the west how tough it is.
Who'd want to sell shit (drugs) to those lot anyway? It doesn't make any sense to try importing shit to that country.....guess they're taking the trial to the line only for our pip squeek premier to do the "Super Hero" rescue mission.
Our pollies should have been jumping on their heads ages back.
Boycott anything Indonesian.
Id like to give a heartfelt thank you to the Camel head wearing Qantas baggage handler who proved to the country and the rest of the world that Australias airport security is appalling. If this was not such a serious matter it would be funny. Sorry you lost your job. Things could be worse. FREE SCHAPELLE NOW!!
Repulsive is one word I have for this trail. Corby is obviously innocent. There has been so much proof that foreign travellers have been targeted and had drugs sneaked into their bags without their knowledge. Shame on those who did this to her and to Indonesia for being so blind to their own faults. Justice will prevail whether in this life or in the afterlife.
Regardless of whether Schapelle is innocent or guilty, the punishment, be it 20 years to life imprisonment or death by firing squad is barbaric and way out of proportion with the alleged offence. Indonesia will never be considered a modern, developed country while its justice system is so unfair and inhumane.
She doesn't look like she has rocks in her head,to do what she has been accused of she'd have to have rocks in her head! let her come home, she is so obviously innocent.
I like many other Australian will boycott Indonesia, I haved helped the Indonesians in the past, the Indonesians are good at taking, now they should give back, give Schapella her life back
Althogugh I have to agree with what 6500 said in his comments, I think that a firing squad is very inhumane, and to "make a point" witht he sacrifice of a human life does not make sense to me, not should it to anyone else. Only God knows the real story at this point, but I hope and pray that it will not come to a firing squad. I don't know the conditions of the jails. Maybe she is guilty, maybe not--but you can't kill someone who MIGHT be guilty. The Austrailian gov't should maybe make a deal to hold her in one of their prisons for a long time--All I konw, is that killing someone for pot is rediculous
The world has come to the aid of the Indonesian people and this is how they respond? This is a travesty. It is most important that this woman be sent back to Australia. John Simone
I was planning a tour of the South Pasific in September. Though I don't smoke pot or have anything to do with it, exicuting a person for pot is rediculios. If this execution is allowed, not only I, though I will pass on this traviesty to my extensive network. James Lawrence Hibbard. ESQ
its time for Australians to take a stand and not support our leaders who do not support Australians in strife in other parts of the world. There is too much evidence now suggesting that tampering withluggage y baggage handlers is endemic
What a shame in this day and age that someone could be shot for this! guilty or not.I am an American and if they executed people for that there would be an uproarous revoloution. I am sure of her innocence. Free her now!
Boycott Indonesia and Bali! Every Australian should think twice about travelling to Bali, if SC is murdered by the indonesians we must stand together and may their economy come crumbling down! She is innocent!
You guys have no idea what the Indonesians will regard as important in this case. They don't care if she's a "nice girl" by your definition, if Australia gave a billion for the tsunami or whatever. They care about their country and promotion of their values. If this value includes convicting someone based on a scenario that exhibited NONE of the hallmarks of a real drug smuggling operation and EVERY hallmark of a total and complete setup, I abhor that. Of course, if they set her free, it would set an unacceptable precedent for future "I was framed" smuggling attempts. Don't forget the rights of that government to safeguard its own nation, because all I read is your indignation at your own loss - they have something to lose also, something big. For all we know she could be part of a major drug smuggling operation paid 1000s of dollars to do this to change the way courts in Indonesia deal with this kind of "improbable" smuggling. We don't know. Even that is implausible so on balance she should be let free. If it happens again though to anyone else, questions have to be asked. Also from the Indonesian court's investigative techniques to the standard of prisoner accommodation - there isn't much that gives you faith. It would be self-righteous in the extreme to convict - you could just as easily put their system on trial for suspicious activities.
I believe Chapelle Corby is innocent. Do the right thing, release her and send her home. If Chapelle is convicted and executed, I think it would be in Australia's best interest not to provide any further humanitarian aid, whatsoever. We've saved THOUSANDS of lives, and we have been rebuilding communities devasted by the Tsunami, yet the Indonesian government can't free one innocent Australian citizen! Australians will BOYCOTT travel to Bali and Indonesia if SC is executed.
My thoughts and well wishes to SC and her family.
There are people on this planet that have murdered, raped and have done other serious crimes, and are still doing this and getting away with blue murder, and when they are found out all they get is a slap on the wrist! What does Schapella have to face - torchure and possible death sentence, this young woman that has not even experienced life is going to have her life taken away from her, let her come home and let her live her life! Let our government sort out this problem as she is an "aussie" This is not a crime that she has done! Don"t judge a book by it's cover!
1053 jon s OK ....weve given a billion dollars of aid to the indonesians in order to do our bit for the humanitarian effort, only two of an australian team survived a helicopter crash whilst providing humanitarian aid to indonesia.....and they accept all this with open arms, yet when one of our girls is set up on drug charges, which probably stemmed from our own country and its internal problems the government fall silent and places its faith in the indonesian judicial system, which is undoubtably one of the most corrupt and miss-managed in the modern world. We have all now watched Mr Howard kiss the indonesian presidents butt and tell him how wonderfull our relationship with our neighbours is developing but it is about time Mr Howard used a bit of political muscle and made a few demands on the behalf of the people that have elected him. GET HER HOME HOWARD...if it was one of our military personnell being held in a hostile country under such dubious and ludicrous circumstances the SAS would have had her at home with her family a long time ago. You may call them friends Mr Howard but a country that would even consider willingly taking the life of one of our girls is definately not a friend. In fact most true blue aussies would consider them an enemy
No one deserves what she is going through - it's a sad world we live in if capital punishment is still carried out. Apart from the pot in her board bag - where is the rest of the evidence to say it is hers - no one is dumb enough to carry this amount of drugs just casually zipped into a board bag - it's so obvious she is innocent. Any one of thousands of people flying into Bali every week could have been used by these drug traffickers - its a scary thought.
I respect other countries traditon & values, but putting a human life in front of a firing squad is inexcusable weather he/she is cuaght in an act that they have done. The question is a preson who is found guilty importing drugs deserve to die, when another person has commited murder desereve to lives. The person who had wrongly put the drugs in miss schapelle corby should be a shamed of themselves for letting an innocent person go through hell. I pay to god for miss schapelle corby and her famliy for her release. Schapelle has done all us Australian proud by being very and very positive at the same time. To Schapelle Corby I believe in you just hang in there and be strong i support you all the way and so are other Australians.
she has to be given the benefit of the doubt, if nothing else.
Last year, my suitcase was "tampered with" whilst in transit from Paris to Perth. The airline. Emirates, didn't want to know, saying that I should claim thru my travel insurance. Apart from missing items from my suitcase, it contained property belonging to someone else!!!
Common sense would tell you, that this girl is innocent. I do not personally know her or her family, but I know she is innocent.
Why do dealings with a country that is clearly corrupt! I say withdraw all help & finances to that country!
This sort of injustice makes the thought of traveling to Indonesia unthinkable. Free Schapelle - guilt needs to be proven without doubt, and there is doubt
In the evidence of bad work of officers in airport which made lots of mistakes, it's up to them to prove that it wasn't possible to someone to use her as a "mule". It's totally unimaginable we could kill or let in jail someone with no proof of that.
It's evidence that she's innocent, but they seem to need this so easy culprit.
SAVE HER !!!!
The Indonsesian Justice System is barbaric and extremely uncivilised. Ms Corby is being tried in a way that totally undermines the natural rights she was born with, both as an Australian but also as a human being. Let her come home in one piece to receive a fair trial here or be prepared to face serious public backlash.
Free her.
The test is "beyond doubt" and significant doubt has been shown.
Furhter more, if Schapella becomes another vicitm of Indonesian aggression, I think that is GoodBye to any significant investment or tourism from many in this country and possibly around the world.
She dosn't look that stupid to me. I hope the Australian Government can find the time to save her, if need be. She should get some mighty compensation for all this crap she has endured. Everyone I have spoken to is behind you, Schapella.
It is clear that she is the victim of a bizarre set of circumstances. Surely any blind lady dressed in a toga and carrying a large set of scales can see that! What is, a shame is that Australia has sent Indonesia a mixed message by; condoning the death penalty for the Bali bomber and then being morally out raged when it is one of our people.
Be it government sanctioned or in cold blood murder is NEVER justified.
My thoughts and prayers are with Schapelle Corby and her family.
With the recent indescretion of a baggage handler wearing a costume he had removed from a passengers luggage it is easy to see how Chapelle Corby could have been used to smuggle drugs into indonesia. She should be given the benefit of the doubt and released.
This murderous execution is a blight on the humanitarian services Australians have given to Indonesia since the tsunami.
It is time the Indonesion government showed some compassion for Chapelle and send her home.
We do not execute anyone in this country and the barbaric way the Indonesions use to get rid of people they do not like is reprehensible. Anyone can see Chapelle is innocent.
Hey, id give her the beef injection as much as any other boke, but if it was some charlie bringing that shit here id hope he got what was coming to him too
Andrew Okeiths comments - you are obviously trying to get a reaction, but please ignore this person and keep posting messages which have some compassion and intelligence in them
This stupid bitch should be given the death penalty to protect our childREN FROM DRUGS. SHE SHOULD BE STONED ON NATIONAL TV SHOWING WHAT HAPPENS TO DRUGGIES THAT TRY AND SMUGGLE DRUGS. SHE IS A DESPERATE WHORE , WITH NO LIFE AND IS ON THE DOLE AND ON DRUGS, DEATH PENALTY PLEASE
never believed she was guilty - who'd put that much in an unlocked bag if they were serious? If she gets prison we all have to be worried - it could happen to anyone!
never believed she was guilty - who'd put that much in an unlocked bag if they were serious? If she gets prison we all have to be worried - it could happen to anyone!
From one extreme to the other. either they send em home of they the death sentance.. i dont see how this if fair to have bombers and fuckwits roaming the streets when an innocent person sits and waits for even bigger fuckwits make there minds up on a girls future, just think of the money they are making keeping her in there!!! is this there motive to gain attention to a country that is nothing more than gutter scum.. i would rather visit the shit house than visit there,,,,, God will save u Girl ...
