There are other ways to go about warning foreigners not to bring drugs into the country - accusing this innocent girl and trialling with the outcome of death by firing squad is not the way to do it.... We can all see she is innocent.. no doubt they can too. Keep praying for her!!

the worst thing about this that directly relates to me is the horrible people i talk to who simply say "she deserves it. she broke the law" 1) The "proof" is somewhat dubious 2) A Natural Plat that grows in the dirt - why can someone be killed for having that?

As a young female and as an Australian, who has just returned from a year travelling the world, the Schapelle Corby ficasco is a case that has realy outraged me. Anyone of us could be in her position, your brother, your sister, your mum your dad, your son, your daughter. We are so quick to throw money Indonesias way when they need it and so quick to give ourselves a big pat on the back for doing so. But where is the governemnt when it comes to looking after one of our own and proving her innocence? Why is it that Schapelle could face the firing squad if found guilty, and what punishment did the Bali bombers get for killing so many innocent people and ruining so many lives? I totally believe in Schapelle's innocence even though until this case i had never heard of Schapelle Corby, but suppose she did export the Cannibas from Australia, how did she manage to get it out of the country? Wouldn't customs have some answering to do in this case? We are Australians we need to stand up and fight for Schapelle and we need to make our governemnt do the same! Boycott Bali!

FREE SCHAPELLE. Quite frankly there should be security camera's at all airports. How safe are our belongings once checking them in? Drugs do not warrant a Death sentence anyways, regardless if she did take them in or not (but clearly she didn't). I wouldn't step foot in Bali nor Indonesia especially after 12 October 2002. The men that were convicted of those bombings got what penality exactly? And they murdered people. This young woman is looking at a death sentence, does that make sense at all? NO.

i am a 17 year old, yet this case has affected me so much, i dont follow the news, or current events, but how can i look past this one... i start by saying, HOW DARE indonesia do this too us, and too our fellow australian, Schappelle Corby, as many others have said on here, i would never ever go too a country like indonesia, what kind of a country is it!, i am utterly DISGUSTED that such an inhumane place such as indonesia exists on earth, they deserved that tsunami, they didn't deserve the millions, or was it billions, that our country gave to them.. i dont understand how indonesia can be ignorant enough to think that she (schapelle) would be that stupid that she would take drugs into indonesia to sell, considering she would make nowhere near as much as it would have cost to purchase them, why sell them to a place that they are so plentiful and cheap and where the punishment for drug trafficking is higher than murder. how can indonesia condone schapelles actions for drug smuggling and try to justify their own actions for executing her. and to think our own govt. won't help her, they just want to keep a friendship going with this inhumane country, well Mr Howard, you have lost an eligable voter come next election. if i was in Bali right now, i would break Schapelle out by whatever means neccessary, and get her home safely, even if it meant risking my own life, thats how strongly i feel about this. Schapelle, i cant begin to imagine how hard this must be for you, dont worry MATE, AUSTRALIA SUPPORTS YOU, even if our (your) government doesn't, hang in there, you have our prayers. As for Indonesia, my final statement is that i dont ever want anything to do with your country, i woudn't even enter your country on a connecting flight. next time i see a tourism ad promoting indonesia, i will just laugh and think, WHAT A JOKE!

I support Corby. I believe she is innocent even though I do not know her. I do not consider this to be a fair trial when you're guilty until proven innocent. The evidence (bag of pot) is contaminated due to mishandling by customs/police. Australian government does not seem to be doing enough to help her and her family. Since we are more alert in regards to security and terrorism, it does makes me wonder about airport security. How many innocent people have died in Indonesia. Please free Corby today.

Free Schapella!!! It was shown today 8th April 2005, how simple it is for baggage handlers to rummage through luggage. A case in Sydney found a baggage handler on the tarmac dressed in the attire retrieved from someone elses personal belongings. Why would Schappelle risk her life in a country where the death penalty is the consequence for drug trafficking to be rewarded a mere couple hundred dollars for the sale??????? Such a huge risk for next to nothing? She is not guilty

What a great way to entice tourists to Indonesia..... a cold prison cell followed by the death sentence! Sounds like a great way to spend your summer holidays! I've already cancelled my ticket to Bali and I think all other Australians should until Schapelle is sent home. There is no questioning her innocence the only question is Balinese intelligence to realise this!

Why would you even contemplate smuggling drugs into indonesia - when they are so plentiful there ?? And just tucked away in a Boogie Board Bag - come on. Surely someone can make the executive decision that this situation is in need of further investigation. Considering our nations relationship with Indonesia I believe the case should be haded back to the Australian autorities to deal with. As a show of Indonesias good faith. Murder is unjust and unforgivable.

Heather Milne said 04/10/05, 9:32 am (verified)
This is not about schapella, is is about politics and red tape. The Indonesian government should not use this case to help their country from importing drugs, they should instead focus on the amount of drugs being exported from Indonesia to other countries and do something about that! Our Gvt. would , you would hope, never treat an Indonesian this way.

I believe that if this trial was in australia or in a country where the judicial system is relatively non-corrupt, that she would be found NOT guilty due to the freedom to prove her innocence. She is an innocent victim and our government should be doing everything within its power to prove her innocence. They are happy to free Iraq when they don't ask for it but not happy to help free an innocenct aussie when she needs it. Ms Corby's only crime was to be so nieve about travelling. Also taking that type of drug to indonesia is like taking your own sand to the beach or taking snow to the arctic, it would be piontless and is probably cheaper in indonesia than anywhere else.FREE MS CORBY HER IMRISONMENT IS ILLIGAL NOT ANYTHING SHE HAS DO.

I have been watchiung the plight of this innocent young person since it began. I feel that after the recent events this week with a bag handler being dismissed after removing a costume from the baggage of a passenger just proves that none of our baggage is safe when we are travelling. How many other bags are open and gone through without the owner realising it? Security at all terminals should be up to date so that these perptrators are caught and the people that are actually guilty of committing these crimes can be brought to justice. Schapelle is innocent I believe that in my heart and in my soul and I feel for her and her family at this time one can only imagine what they must be going through but I am sure it is worse then what we could even think.

I can not know for certain whether Ms Corby is innocent or not as I don't have access to all the facts. But it seems highly unlikely that anyone would smuggle drugs from Australia to Indonesia when they are cheaper there anyway. Where is the incentive to take such a risk as drug smuggling without at least the likelihood of making a lot of money? The drugs would have been sold for more within Australia. So it just doesn't add up. In addition, I don't believe in the death penalty anyway as mistakes can be (and are) made.
