She has to be innocent. No one in there right mind would do what she is accused of doing. The way she is being treated by "the system" is a disgrace. Ive boycotted Indonesia. The recent stories about airport security just prove how flawed the system is. A recent TV poll showed 40000 people responded and 88% of those beleive she is innocent. FREE HER NOW !!!
Free her. How would you feel if you were to be sentenced to death by firering squad?? Answer that question. I bet you would break down to tears too. I know I would!!!!
its outragous that all these people here automaticly assume that she is innocent. the only person who truley knows if she is innocent is herself, and she has to prove that.8000 blind misguided sheep wont make an effect by claiming to boycott all to do with indonesia, including those poor people who where affected be the tsnami. shame on you all. if she had any past troubles with the law, or made a mistake when she was younger this all would be dragged out into the media and you all would think she is guilty and seek the firing squad. honestly how many innocent people do you hear getting caught at international airports with large quantities of dope? i dont like the indonesian court system as much as the next guy, doesnt mean im going to jump on the schapella corby band wagon and assume she is innocent. may her fate rest with god.
I do not believe the death penelty could be considered in this day and age. I do not believe Schapelle would take drugs to Bali It dosent make any sense most if not all drug trffic comes in the other direction !
This is a very sad situation and I am mystified by the behavior of this government! Let the punishment fit the crime if she is guilty. I don't believe that she is but even if she were this is not a fitting punishment! A very inhumane act by a people that doesn't mind putting a hand out to recieve aid.
(1)The people of australia gave good money to
indonesian after the earth quake
(2) do we put to death the indonesian people who come into our waters taking fish elegally "NO"
(3) should the australian government stop aid and help to people who kill for no reason
Unreal what a joke the Indonesian government is - not even to fingerprint the drug bag, no jury . These drugs have been planted and everyone knows it especially the real person that planted them. What a weakling you are!!!!
I cannot believe what is happening to Schapelle. It sickens me. No Jury, only judges - what sort of a system is that. She is so innocent its not funny its so obvouis. I would never travel to Bali in a million years!!!! Please god free her
it just goes to prove what kind of people they are and how they keep an inocent person in jail, is this their way of saying look what we do to you australians,we want to murder you and do it in your faces while your country gives us billions they have never put any of their soldeirs in jail for all the murders they did of inocent people including Ausies and this is just another murder that they want to commite, she should never hve been put in jailits just a slap in the face for Ausralia by a corrupt goverment, I dont feel my Tax should be aiding in such a mindles regieme
i would like to see that justice is done but i am afraid ever since she was arrested she has been treated as guilty by the indonesian government. i am outraged that the bali bombing suspects were treated as almost heros by the police at their trials yet she is almost brutilised by them at every appearance. please let her go i beleive she is innocent and if she was before the court in australia she would be released because of no proven evidence. my heart goes out to schapella corby and her family. i would now never vist bali or indonesia and would be very against any of my family to do so also and now am re-thinking our country giving monetry assistance to indonesia as well
The Government is so corrupt in Bali how could you trust her to get a fair trial only maybe if there was a brown paper bag involved BOYCOTT BALI and the local high profile profit making business people will have her released QUICK SMART
Capitol punishment belongs in the dark ages and surely Bali needs to attract people back for tourism, this will have an adverse affect on the economy as many people dont agree with this policy.
Schapelle is a wonderful Aussie lady. I am an angry American. It is my belief that Indonesia could use a nice military visit not unlike the one currently underway in Iraq. Perhaps they will continue this type of stuff and finally someone will pay them such a visit.
The economy of Indonesia strongly depends on tourist dollars and this incident has unfortunately marred the image of an otherwise beautiful nation. However, it is not to late for the government to take action and release an innocent individual, thereby preventing a political, social and economic backlash.
Justice must be served, irrespective of nationality.
Perspective maintained, irrespective of hysterics.
Release her, because she's innocent. Don't damn them because they're indonesian.
Absolutely disgraceful. My heart goes to Schapella and her family and friends. Mr Howard do your job and fight for your citizen's justice and release and whilst you're at it, sort out QANTAS who are responsible for allowing the baggage to be carried into Indonesia in the first place. They are Australia's airline and are now disgraced. who would want to travel with them? I will not be flying QANTAS ever again unless you as PM of Australia insist on an independent investigation into QANTAS' failed security system and initiate IMMEDIATE action to secure Schapella's safe and quick return.
You have to ask yourself, what sort of country lets convicted terrorists off lightly, then tries to seek harsher penalties for people charged with lesser offences.
Life in prison and the death penalty should only be imposed if there is clear evidence that can not be dismissed. This case has limited evidence, all of which can be argued.
This is pathetic, and something needs to be done to stop this from happening.
What sort of justice system gives a light slap on the wrist to its own coldblooded murderers, and the prospect of firing squad for a foreigner who was unlucky enough to have had drugs planted on her? Even if she were guilty, the punishment doesn't fit the crime! What's also disturbing is that the justice system seems hell bent on making her an example, regardless of whether she is guilty or innocent. What this case demonstrates is that perhaps none of us are safe and could be an unsuspecting victim just like Schapelle. Even if people didn't want to boycott Indonesian travel, the fear of something like this happening would probably keep them away.
Dear Mr Downer and Mr Howard,
(Please copy this email to our Prime Minister, Mr John
Howard)
As an Australian living overseas I am embarrassed to
be called Australian in view of what is happening at
the moment with the Schapelle Corby saga.
I am appalled we are being dictated by a third world
country that harbours terrorists and who run their
courts worse than they run their street markets, and
that we Australians are just sitting back and
accepting their ludicrous behaviour.
What is happening is pure nightmare and nonsensical
and a complete farce. The whole world is looking at
this circus and at Australia laughing and thinking
that we are powerless to protect our citizens, yet we
are very happy to send billions of dollars to
Indonesia for the Tsunami Aid. Maybe we should have
reserved some money and sent another $100,000 to the
Indonesian prosecutors to ensure Australians do not
face hell in their country.
Please remind Indonesia how much we contributed for
the Tsunami relief and if this is their way of paying
us back, then we will not forget it in the future.
They are in no position to be arrogant and to pretend
to be carrying out justice, with people who support
and help them. They should be asking their allies for
political assistance, not just economic.
We go there to enjoy their country and contribute to
their economy and in return, they treat us worse than
their animals. If this farcical trial falls in their
favor, and convicts an Australian citizen, when there
is MORE than reasonable doubt at hand, then they
should be intelligent enough to realize that they will
suffer disastrous economic consequences to their
economy. They have to realize that their tourism will
suffer as travelers will not take the risk and will
not support barbaric injustice. I for one will boycott
them and their country, and will discourage hundreds
at least , if not more, from going to or dealing with
Indonesia. We should not be de
1. Afganistan
2. Iraq
3. Indonesia If this young lady is not released. America is watching you. We're already pissed off, One more country won't make a difference.
I believe she's innocent - everyone knows that including the Australian Govt, but they are willing to sacrifice an innocent person's life rather than rock the Indonesian boat. Remember how vocal the Aust govt was (over the Bali bombing) towards the Indonesians...and they say now they are unable to interfere? What a load of rubbish!
Hadis:1336>Izbor poslanikovih hadisa ;Jakub Mmic
What is the Australian Government god well doing?????????? Well l think they should be absolutely disgusted in themselves!!! We have already sent the bloody Indonesians 500 million in aid of the Tsunami, then a further 1 million for the latest earthquake. In the mean time our Prime Minister, John Howard has hosted and entertained the Indonesian Prime Minister here in Australia, staying in our most superb establishments and eating our finest foods, while Schapelle Corby sits in a filthy, filthy, cell!!!!!!!!!!! Schapelle, you are so innocent!!!!! I flew to Sydney from Melbourne and had excess luggage on the 10th of April 2005, usually l get away with it, but apparently they check the weight of the luggage when you check in, they audit that weight before it gets on the plane. I ended up having to pay an excess luggage fee of $11.00AUS. I do not know how long this has been in effect, but put it his way, l have always had excess luggage and have never had to pay it before. I just hope that Qantas are not covering up for the mistake that has put Schapelle in prison in that dog ridden country!!!
Let those Islamic Extremists defend this?
I believe as a result, Abu Bakar Bashir and his followers are sending us this, The Aussies, a political message, telling us never to try to convict him as a result of the Bali Bombings! Let me add here, 185 people were murdered in cold blood!!!! Most of those were Australians, our flesh and blood!!!! BUT we, the TAXPAYERS still continue to support a truly corrupt government who cannot control its’ own people! Minister Downer, l helped to elect this government for the first time ever, show some balls and help free this poor girl, PLEASE! Do not let these fundamental extremists win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!PLEASE
Watching the news last night completely devastated me; wa
Sh*t will REALLY hit the fan if this woman is executed. Our Australian Government pledged EIGHT BILLION DOLLARS to Indonesia over a 5 year period for Tsunami relief, not to mention the MILLIONS from ordinary citizens; A CONVICTED Indonesian TERRORIST gets a TWO YEAR SENTENCE; NOT life, NOT Death...What am I missing here?
It breaks my heart to see a person face possible death, for being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
More needs to be done to protect individuals in society from ending up in such circumstances, regardless of where they are from.
Innocent!
I shouldn't be but I am, shocked at the lack of visible support or interest by the Australian Government. Excuse me John Howard but how about taking a SECOND out of hosting Indonesian guests, having a cuppa with President Bush and fluffing around with every Tom Dick and Martha to see whether Schapella gets a fair go! But that's OK, just cast a "blind eye" when it's convenient, I mean it's not you or your family sweating it out in a foreign country wondering what date you will face the firing squad is it!
Poor girl. Digusting treatment, can't imagine what she's going through at the moment. My thoughts are with you. It will backfire MASSIVELY if, regardless of the outcome of the courts, she isn't returned home.
Schapelle Corby
is INNOCENT.
I cannot believe where the world is at! How can the indonesian Government get only a prison term on the indonesian bomber whom managed to scar so many families' lives in the Bali Bombings - And now you turn the tables to a crime that is far less inhumane, a drug case - and they are quite willing and able to take the life of an innocent girl in one of the most inhumane ways known in life today! To stand and be shot.
The whole world is looking at this counrty. ?
Schapella should be home, and surrounded by love - recovering from such an ordeal.
Geo Hickey
i shall never provide any further financial assistance for tsunamis, or earthqueakes. Wrong place wrong time for indonesian victims of natural disaster now as far as I am concerned. Innocent girl. Without a doubt.
I am an Australian living in Ireland fearing for all people placing trust in these 'tight secured' airports? Whether she's innocent or guilty, she should be treated fairly in her own country with thorough investigations in both Bali and Australia!
LET HER GO SHE IS INNOCENT! YOUR LEGAL SYSTEM IS INCONSISTENT & EMBARRASING!! AND YOU UTTER IGNORANCE IS SHAMEFUL. HOW CAN YOU LIVE WITH YOURSELVES KNOWING WHAT YOU ARE PUTTING AN INNOCENT GIRL, AND HER FAMILY THROUGH. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF SHE WAS YOUR DAUGHTER OR LOVED ONE!?
Indonesia you suck.you people should be more worried about the murderers over there.we pay ur bills without turisam ur NOTHING. u make me sick cant u see SHE IS INNOCENT
She looks like a frightened animal in a cage surrounded by other animals that are playing with her before they kill her.
This is the most inhumane thing ive ever witnessed
I cannot believe where the world is at! How can the Aust govt get only a prison term on the indonesian bomber whom managed to scar so many families' lives in the Bali Bombings - And now you turn the tables to a crime that is far less inhumane, a drug case - and they are quite willing and able to take the life of an innocent girl in one of the most inhumane ways known in life today! To stand and be shot. Schapella should be home, and surrounded by love - recovering from such an ordeal.
EXACTLY........how the hell did she get the cannabis out of Australia. What a set up....let her go, you are not doing yourselves any favours.I will never go to BALI it could mean a death sentence.
australia prides itself in being a compassionate and just country? but where is it when needed in a life or death situation. corby is innocent.
can't they deport her home? can't johnny make a deal with the country we just gave one billion dollars to in aid?!
in australia a school teacher was given the punishment of community service after being in possesion of 29 kilos of marijiuna! corby faces death over 4.1kgs which she isnt even responsisble for!
in a world where our court and justice systems can only be as good as the socities amd cultures in which they belong to, we have to help them to see the larger picture, and change their attitudes- and allow justice to prevail!
Hang in there. If a wish could bring you back to Australia you would be here now.
There is no real justice there.
To Schapelle's family stay strong give her strength.
Take care if it is at all possible there.
I dont understand why they are doing this to her. We have given Indonesia so much help since the boxing day tsunamis and the following earthquakes, and yet they wont free an innocent australian. Also, how is it that the bali bombing masterminds are sent to prison for a few years, and then released, but Schapelle is facing the firing squad. none of it makes sense. SHE IS INNOCENT!!!
Its an ugly show trial with a lot of irrelevant political connotations.
We in OZ are well aware of the penalties for drug trafficking in Indonesia.
Nobody from Australia would be stupid enough to import marijuana to Indonesia at a significant financial loss with the added bonus of a death penalty.
There has to be another explanation for the presence of the drugs in the girls luggage.
One that a reasonable person would believe.
This woman has been set up and caught up in this whole rotten rats nest. She is innocent and you all know it. Let her go home to Australia a free woman. Remember Gods Commandments: You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour. Let her go and don't reap coals on your own heads.
Whether or not she is guilty she should be freed, there is no consistency in the Indonesian justice system and being caught with illicit substances is not rape or murder
The evidence speaks for itself, An overwhelming amount of mistakes made from within our customs system where a young lady can end up with this alledged amount of cannibis, the said drug supposedly in an unsecured bag,yet it gets through our customs for the consequenses to land on this ladies shoulders. Shame . Free Schapella Corby
I can only imagine the backlash against Indonesia if you do not allow Schapelle to return home. From aid to tourism the upcoming generation will not forget.
