According to Bali drug laws, possession is everything and sufficient prove to find the accused guilty of the crime. The bag was Schapelle's, the drugs were Schapelle's and unless she can prove that somebody else put them there, there is no escape. So now it is up to her legal team to try and establish her innocence because, as far as the Bali authorities are concerned, the case is closed and she is guilty.
This is a legal system that shows no mercy whatsoever for drug traffickers. This is a system that does not give the accused the benefit of the doubt and even if it has not been proven that they were her drugs and that she placed them in her bag, it assumes that the accused is guilty (end of story). There is no compassion or understanding at all. It is a black and white, inhumane and barbaric system which does not consider any other possibilities.
The saying innocent until proven guilty does not apply here, instead a more appropriate one would go something like ‘remain guilty if you are accused until proven otherwise’. If you can not prove otherwise you remain guilty and will endure extreme suffering and your life is not worth living or will be short lived. The possibility that Schapelle was framed and the drugs planted in her bag is not even considered unless she or her legal team can prove so, which is an extremely difficult if not impossible task. This is what I call a situation of total hopelessness and desperation!
I thought we lived in a day and age where this type of thinking by general consensus was considered as being unacceptable and a thing of the past. It is beyond my comprehension that such a way of thinking is still existent in today’s day and age.
This could have happened to me or you or a beloved member of your family. Enough is enough! Schapelle has endured enough suffering. Bring her home as swiftly as possible. It is the only moral thing to do. Please do the right thing!
I have read numerous reports and stories written by various people world wide and not one of them have been able to say that Schapelle is guilty. As for me, I think she is completely innocent and who ever is responsible for this should be ashamed of themselves. How they can sleep at night I have no idea! My thoughts are with Schapelle and her family who I know are really lovely people. I remember Ros looking after me when I had the chicken pox years ago. Ros married my uncle James and I have fond memories of them all.
