Jon Stewart is great! He's funny, he's SMART, and he knows what he's talking about. An hour is the least Comedy Central could do. I mean, really, how many reruns of Mad TV do you need in one day?
The Bush administration is clearly providing enough material for an hour long program. An hour is really manageable four days a week- make the guests talk longer or if all else fails have a musical number (jon stewart could perform show tunes and dance a la Fosse).
The Daily show is the most important show on Television. John Covers the news with humor and inteligence. He calls people on their shit ans shines the light on what is wrong.
The only person one tv who religiously points out the ridiculous in all things politics - John Stewart - for this we thank you and wish you more air time to entertain and inform.
The Daily Show is the most authoritative news show on TV. And with the recent dropping of Crossfire by CNN due in large part to the episode where Jon Stewart was the guest, it is high time that the hard work and dedication exhibited by the folks at Comedy Central be given its due reward: 30 more minutes of the-man-with-the-plan, Jon Stewart.
We have just recently begun receiving The Daily Show in Europe on CNN International, once a week, on Sunday, when it is not preempted. One half hour per week is not enough for we American expats living in Europe. An hour would be just fine. Consider yourselves lucky, my American compatriots living in the US, that you get five small doses per week.
Europe needs The Daily Show more than it needs any other news program, fake or otherwise, coming out of the US.
We're half-American up here in Canada and TDS is therapeutic.
I hope the show increases to one hour but that the extra time is devoted to prepared content; and maybe an extra five minutes for the guest segment.
Don't you love how sometimes Jon makes discreet comments alluding to the fact that he might actually know what's really happening. We need some stories on PNAC and the Office of Special Plans.
