Dean has the appeal and the organization skills to take the DNC to better places than McCauliffe has. He has failed horribly over the past two election cycles presiding over losses in 2002 and even worse losses in '04. Its time to replace him with Dean.
When a football coach loses the Superbowl time after time, he is replaced with someone new. Can we do less when the future of our democracy hangs in the balance?
Because of Howard Dean i got involved in politics for the first time in my life. He gave me the best civics lesson I ever had. He's a team player, too and deserves to lead the party!
We need a massive change in the DNC leadership. No more rolling over to the Repugnants. We need to build our base and get our message out. Gov. Dean is the man for the job.
Howard Dean's ability to energize the Democratic base both emotionally and finacially is an invaluable party asset. DNC Chair is the perfect way to channel this energy for best use by the party.
Howard Dean has shown a genious for grassroots politics and a real ability to inspire people to get involved. Being Chair of the DNC should not prevent him from running for President in '08 should he choose to do so. America want a party that can take a stand and stick to it. From 2000 to 2003 I kept hearing people say "Where are the Democerats?" Dean's directness started to give the party a backbone. Lets give the good Doctor the chance to finish the backbone transplant.
Howard Dean was by far the strongest candidate for the Dems. Much better than Kerry and he had a ton of support from early on. Why do you think the media tried to sabotage him early on? They knew he was strong and wanted to empower people. The media doesn't want anything like that to happen!
Totally devasted and whats worse is all this "moral" talk from a guy who doesn't have 1 moral bone in his body! I think after all the votes are counted we should be able to see how we were cheated out of this once again. And these are evangelicals??? Go to church on Sunday and stab your neighbor in the back on Monday. You can tell how bitter I am. We worked HARD for this and now we'll just be groveling for another 4 years trying to make ends meet while the rich who have everything continue getting more. :(
I am disappointed and just as we needed change in the white house we need it in the DNC. It was a devastating loss on all ends of the spectrum on Nov. 2nd. This party needs a new direction also.
Howard Dean focused the Democratic party on the important issues of Health Care, the Environment, Jobs and the Economy and many others. He would be great to lead and bring together the many factions of our Party.
It's time for a change!!!! Unless the leadership of the Democratic Party can show some guts, the radical reactionaries will continue to deconstruct our democracy. Howard has the guts!!!!
We need someone who is able to articulate and inspire hope and real American values in a frank and honest way. Dean's is the only voice I've heard that can do that.
Howard Dean has been the spirit presence in this campaign. He called it from the beginning in the primaries: the dialogue was about God, Guns, and Gays. He is the only one who seems to have the political acuity that senses what is really going on, plus he has the integrity, the intellect, and the drive to be effective. It's time to recognize that the Democratic National Committee is at best inept. If we are to survive as a party, Howard Dean is the best person to lead this effort.
I think we need a bold, new direction for the country that is progressive yet upholds the values that have underpinned our Democracy since Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. We need to build an America that is strong both morally and ethically, and we need to build it from the inside out. Education, health care, Social Security: these are just some of the real issues we need to face.
I agree that Howard Dean can bring together those factions of the party that are waiting for a way to get into the mainstream. I believe that Howard Dean can turn this party into what it should have been, the party that cares about people's lives literally. We should have been against the war, period! I know more people would have listened to that message.
The TRADTIONAL Democrats got it wrong again. We don't want to be like the Republican's , we want to offer something different. We didn't this time and we lost. Howard needs to help start something grand and bold in the Democratic Party otherwise we will see the other side win more races in the future.
Howard Dean got me fired up in a way I hadn't been for a long time. He made me believe it was possible to defeat Bush. We need someone who isn't afraid to pick or pitch a battle and who can bring new voters in and motivate them. The Dean campaign demonstrated they could do that in spades. It's time for a change NOW.
If we are going to bother with two parties in this country, we Democrats need to delineate and stand up for our principles and values, not follow along behind the Republicans like puppies! Howard's the man. If the DNC wants my money, anyway!
The Democratic Party is falling apart, and we need Dr. Dean and the Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party to clean up house. I look forward to contributing to the DNC financially (something I have never done) when Dr. Dean is the honest, progressive, bold Chairman of the DNC.
I was a Republican voter for 27 years; if it had not been for Howard Dean, my move to the Democratic Party would have been half-hearted, or grudging. I'm an enthusiastic, hard-working Democrat!
Gov Dean - we need your voice and your leadership. You must steer our ship back on course. We need someone from the Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party!
I am a longtime Dean supporter. I believe that were Dean the nominee, Democrats would have trounced Bush. I support Dean for DNC chair because it will send a signal of much needed change in the party. Progressives will no longer feel that they have to run to another party to get their voice heard. Howard Dean is also a visionary leader who can turn a minority party into a majority one.
Howard refreshed the democratic party and allowed us to at least challenge Bush. Dean would shake things up and put the life back in the party of the people.
Howard Dean is capable of being fair to all the parts of the Party and those independents and progressive third parties who might join a coalition with common progressive values.
We Republicans need Dean in New York, and Massachussetts, and Texas, and Michigan, and Illinois. And then we need him in DC to make fun of him in the WHITE HOUSE!!!!!! YEEEEAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Howard Dean has the vision, honesty and true leadership skills this country sorely needs. He has proven he can inpsire people and be a choice for "good" rather than the lesser of 2 evils. Howard, please consider this plea from what I hope will become well over a million
democrats "from the deomcratic wing of the party!"
The Republicans didn't build their post-1964 winning political machine by abandoning the right but by embracing it to a degree that made even Goldwater sick. We must resist calls to moderate and go with the Clintonism that has gotten us elected but not built a new Democratic consensus. We must stand up for the real Democratic party.
Dean is the right man. Even if you don't choose him, McAuliffe must go. we are not Bush dealing with Rummy. Incompetence can't be rewarded because of "loyalty"
