I think it's brilliant. If he's game, Howard's the one. Please, HD, you gotta go for it. We need you like we've never needed you before. [proud Deniac--complete with a "Deaniacs for Kerry" bumper sticker on my crummy little Saturn that shall never be removed--in CA]
Enough with the overpaid consultants who attempt to water down all meaningful dialog in this country. We've lost too many elections aiming for chaff. When you aim for the chaff, you often get shafted.
We need someone who will actually stand up for the truth and not give up so easily. Governor Dean is that person. I am so sick of Democrats rolling over and taking it from the Religious Right. We NEED a strong person who isn't afraid to say what he thinks.
Because the Party desperately needs someone who can re-engage the working class and boost grassroots enthusiasm. Dean is the only one I can think of with that gift in such abundance.
Like the rest of you I only rejoined - then hung in - with the Dems because of Dean. The party abandoned us and its principles long ago and Dean is it's only real hope. Given a choice between a third party with Dean or the Dems without him, it's an easy choice so this is a wonderful solution
During the primaries I felt that Dean was the only real hope for the Democratic Party, that he was fearlessly honest, and willing to tell the truth about what is going on in this country.
I believe we need Dean's leadership because he got right to the core of what is in our hearts as Democrats. He appealed to the very best in us, he inspired thousands of people to give more than they ever had before and I think he is a real leader.
Dean cares more about the future of this country than he does about his personal career and there are very few people in the political arena I could say that about.
The Democrats will never win by fighting for the Republican base. I say let them have their base. Let's motivate ours for a change by cultivating a Democratic party focused on honesty, integrity, courage, and good governance. Dr. Dean, we need you.
I think that Howard Dean would be a great DNC Chairman. We need to be proud of our moral values--valuing life, working toward a more collaborative world. Our deeply held, religious values need to counter the fundamentalists woho only look selectively at their issues. We want to take care of the poor--the least of our brethern. No more apologizing for our views, nor do we need to couch theem in "facts and statistics" which have put us as ungodly, heathen liberals.
Howard Dean has honed a clear sensible message and a workable program to restore the Democratic Party. If he's willing to be DNC chair, for the sake of America please let him try.
Howard Dean certainly showed an ability to energize his followers and would likely revitalize the Democratic Party. I supported Dennis Kucinich here in New Hampshire, but Howard Dean was my strong second choice for president, and he is the best person for the position of Chair of the DNC.
This is the perfect position for Howard, who may be wounded electibility-wise due to his media assasination. No one has a more forward-looking vision for the future of the democratic party. It is Howard, Trippi and Paul Wellstone and Russ Feingold who are the real leaders of this party.
you brought hope to this party, you spoke out, we need a strong voice, you energized people! you actually gave me the hope to work for the kerry campaign (although I had hoped it was you) we need you!!!
It should be obvious that we need a change. We in the Democratic Party need to start standing up for what we believe in instead of aping the oppostion in the belief that everyone will like us more. Howard Dean understands this and has a better vision for our party.
Howard Dean truly energized and inspired me and many others to actively and passionately get back into politics after years of having dropped out. It was suddenly exciting to hear the news and learn about how we were breaking records (for fund raising, registering voters, etc.) After being defeated in the primaries, he took his own advice to heart (unlike many other politicians). Rather than sulking, or folding camp, he became even more active to inspire other progressives, all across this country, to get involved in local politics through his Democracy for America. Following the Dean's Dozens candidates and learning about progressives all around the US working hard to make things better in their own area provided a much needed beacon of light and hope for all of us in this country.
