As fewer Democrats are being elected, we should all be asking ourselves, why? Is it only the strength and money of Repulbicans and their "devil-genius" Karl Rove that is making the difference? While much of that is true, how have Democrats been responding? By blanding down our message, by lying down and allowing Republicans to walk over us, by conceding elections too early, basically by not showing courage. The American public senses this and have voted for what they consider (albeit mistakenly) the stronger candidate. We Democrats need a new strength and backbone to head the Democratic Party. In recent times, nobody has been more authentic and unafraid to speak the truth than the couragaeous Howard Dean. Support Howard Dean as Chairman of the DNC!
In the words of Jonathan Jacobs in his comment:
Dean is the only democrat that
had the guts to come out and say the Iraq war was a bad choice.
We need him.
That was a statement that was needed by Kerry !
K-man
Gov. Dean knows how to connect with Democrats and to get them involved. He knows how to use energy, ideas and grassroots efforts in addition to money to get candidates identified and elected.
The DNC needs someone to lead the party that "gets it" and Howard Dean definitely gets it!!!
Dean inspired thousands of Democrats and former Greens to donate money and time to this election. The Democratic Party needs Dean to keep this new grass roots engaged on their side. The Unions are dying. Dean supporters are a new source of energy and cash for the Dems. Dean's message is true now more than ever. Democrats are not going to win elections by being Republican lite. Clinton has charisma, but his strategy never won a majority of the vote.
We have started to change the party on the grassroots level. Much of what we accomplished this past year was partly because of Dean's leadership and organizational skills. His continued leadership is just what this party needs.
SOMEONE needs to take on the Fundamentalists. Surely, it would seem that someone could form an organization of "Christians" and call it something like "Christians against Bush"
Dean would be perfect: 1) he 'gets' grassroots 2)he can fundraise 3) he connects with the base AND Indies and Repubs 4) he 'gets' electonic voting machine issues 5) he is a student of Lakoff and knows how to do moral politics-speak
Not a good idea. The DNC's an entrenched organization making many mistakes, bent on being "Republican Lite", etc. We need Dean not trying to change an established group, but head of a new, fresh organization -- DFA. As DFA gets stronger, the DNC will follow our/his lead.
We need to get rid of DLC too! They are hurting not only our party but our nation! They side too many times with Big Business and they along with R's are literally destroying our nation!Take our party back where it used to be,progressive!Stop being Republican-lites!Yes,Get Terry out of there! He sucks!
Dr. Dean seems to be the only leader that we can trust for this important position. Also, he speaks in clear, firm terms. I am forwarding this petition to my entire mailing list.
Let's stop trying to change the Party at the top and listen to what Howard said. He told us to change the Party from within. What better example than Howard himself taking the lead. DFA can continue to do their work at the state & local level (with Howard as "honorary" Chair), while Howard paves the way for these progressive candidates from within the DNC. In the end, it won't matter if he runs in '08, though he still could. We'll have a real opposition party with a clear progressive message. America wins.
Howard Dean need not only become the DNC leader he has my help, energy, enthusiasm and efforts to TAKE BACK OUR PARTY AND OUR COUNTRY.

After John Kerry sold out this party to those who would perpetrate voter fraud, we need a true outsider with government experience to mop up the mess. Howard Dean is that man. Save what's left of this party by letting Dr. Dean write a prescription for the DNC!
Going to the center will not help. You need to start reminding people that Jesus told us to help our neighbors - and we don't see how making sure they can't put food on their table is helping them.
Dean would have won. I know this as surely as I know the sky is blue.
I have been a Democrat for my entire 42 years,I have never thought of leaving but I am now. The one thing that might keep me as a Democrat is if Dr. Dean heads the DNC. I am so upset with John Kerry for giving up so easily. I have now voted in two elections and have been screwed in both. I am so frustrated that I am ready to become an Independent and forget the Democratic Party. Dr. Dean you are the only one that can save this party, and I know there are many other people out there that feel the same way that I do. Please think about it and thank you.
I can't think of any person more fitted to be the Chairman of the Democratic National Commitee than Dr. Howard Dean. Therefore, I'm siging this petition with great enthusiasm.
It is (and has been) high time for new leadership and a dramatic change at the DNC. The status quo isn't working and we will continue to lose until a true Democrat is at the helm. Howard Dean has proven he can inspire passion and stick to his principles; things sorely needed now.
Dean is a true leader in every sense of the word. He also has a genuine commitment to the principles of the Democratic Party. With these credentials I can think of no one better to bring out the best in all of us and lead us to victory in 2008.
If the Democrats do not realize the neccessity of a complete reform of the Party...then they derserve to lose again for the third time...and they will.
That the old school Dems ahve lost the mo' is by now obvious. Dean has the vision and the passion and the forthrightness to reenergize the donkey party, and the DNC is the bully pulpit!
