If we of the Blue states do not out organize the Red Menace, we may soon find ourselves living in an oppressive theocracy. Dean has the energy and eloquence to ispire and lead the effort to regain the mantle of morality. A morality based on the alleviation of human suffering rather than the punishment of some televangelist's notion of "sin".
Howard Dean is the only candidate for DNC chair that has done anything I know of for my county's Democratic Party [Franklin County-Columbus, OH]. Because of Howard Dean, we were able to fend off an assault on our fine county Commissioner Mary Jo Kilroy. In the bargain, we also elected another fine county Commissioner, Paula Brooks. Dean has made clear that the Grassroots must come first in this Party if it is to rebound. I agree with him, and I want him in charge!
As Truman said, " When voters are given a choicebetween voting for a Republican, or a Democrat who acts like a Republican, they'll vote for the Republican every time.
Howard Dean has the honest passion to drive America back to ALL Americans and the intelligence to see through the issues and point out the fundamental truth. This country NEEDS a dose of the truth.
Howard Dean has remained true to principle and is working hard for progressive causes. We'd be fortunate to have him as the leader of the DNC. We need to get well beyond the lacklustre Daschle-Gebhardt leadership in Congress, and with Nancy Pelosi and a new Senate leader with backbone, and Dr. Dean at the DNC, we'd have the strong leadership we need!
Howard Dean has proved that he will stand up for the principles of the Democratic Party...we'd rather go down to defeat based on our principles than dilute these principles so that we no longer no who we are.
The Democrats have lost two straight Presidential elections against an incompetent and lying opponent! It is time for a totally new direction for the Party.
yes, the leadership of the dems has failed miserably. We need Howard Dean at the helm steering the party toward a progressive and pragmatic era where the Repubs will be squashed as they should be and evolution will be taught in the schools.
Folks-We've got LOTS of work to do to get our country back. If Dean can infuse pride and assertiveness back in the Dems, he should be given the chance.
Now, more than ever, we need a leader who will lay the groundwork for the better good for America. Howard Dean, the first to stand and be counted against BushCo, appears qualified for the DNC's top chair.
Let someone who is not ashamed of being a real patriotic American and believes in, and can articulate, the founding principals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for ALL Americans.
Terry McAuliff has proven to be inept in this very basic regard.
Inspiring the youth (who failed to vote)and initiating huge online grassroot efforts shows intelligent campaign leadership. DNC have become too placating to GOP and needs to stand for something itself.
We need Dean so that nobody can accuse a Democratic Party candidate of not having convictions. It is better to be in the Opposition and be true to our principles than to rely on political "inside sports" strategies.
Gov. Dean was right when he quoted Paul Wellstone (who was quoting Harry Truman) when he said "If yoy give people a choice between aa real Republican and a phony Republican -- they'll choose the real Republican every time."
The national leadership of the DNC should immediately resign and seek bold, new leaders!
You and your campaign did more to energize the Democrats than ever before! Please consider this- by speaking the truth about so many issues, you inspired tens of thousands of us! You can do it again.
Maybe if Dean is elected DNC chair he can see what can be done to get rid of the DLC - or at least get it out of the grasp of the corporations - one of the reasons I have not sent them any money!
2004 should have been ours. Mr. Dean should only head DNC if he is certain he does not want to run for pres. 2008. We need assertive, well-spoken, leadership (Truman, Kennedy)to advance the Democratic Party. P.S. Mr. Dean's campaign missed the opportunity to use the slogan: Ice cream! You scream! We all scream for Howard Dean! (plus ice cream cone icon)
There is a wrong perception among many democrats that inclusion of conservatives will compromise our believes. The fact is that our basic believes are not only not conflict with many conservative's believes, but in fact serve better to their believes than republican's approach. Howard Dean is the person who has this understanding. If we want to win back voters, he should be the person to lead us into the promise land in the future.
I believe Howard Dean has the ability to transform the Democratic Party into a winninbg party once again. He should have been the DNC's candidate for President of the United States. Now, hopefully, the DNC will see the value Dean brings to the Party and give him the leadership role he richly deserves.
