I think this would be great for the Party. Dean brought in more new people to the party than any other person in recent memory. For that alone he deserves to head the DNC. And it's time to throw Republican infiltrator Al From to the wolves!!
If it's an either/ or thing I prefer President in 08. That being said, there is no better Democrat and American to put this party and country on the right track.
Please make sure that the Democrats have Real Leadership! Howard Dean represents the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party! Stop being gutless and apologizing for being Democrats.
Dr. Dean gives me inspiration to help my country and the Democratic party. There are very few leaders out there who can mobilize people as well as Howard Dean.
When I first saw this petition on Wednesday, it had something like 2200 signatures; two days later, it has 2900; I am certainly signing it, but at this rate, we won't get One Million signatures until the next century
The same people who ran the last failed campaigns are now trying to blame it on Howard Dean. He has the skills to reshape the Democratic Party to appeal to voters in all 50 states and make us a real nation again.
The recent election has shown that we can't beat Bush with Bush-lite. The Democratic Party, and the country, desperately needs fighters like Howard Dean who will convey a clear message and stand up for our ideals.
Governor Dean mobilized the Democratic Party when he ran for the presidential nomination. No better reason than that is needed for his being chairman of the DNC. Democrats must come together, must mobilize. Governor Dean has already proven he can do that.
Mr. McCauliffe need to go. Democrats need to stop shooting themselves in the foot. Dean gets people motivated in a way that few politicians can. Let's give him a shot!!
We need someone who speaks with strength.
The Republicans need to be taken off their high horse so we can return to a Democracy!
I vote for Howard Dean!
We will never be a froce in national politics by trying to be Republican lite! We We should try to find out why 40% of the voting population do not vote. Whast are they waiting fot?
What better man to lead the party than the man who energized its base, showed it how to raise huge sums of money in small increments, and most importantly, gave it back its spine?
It is time for the Democratic party to regain/redefine its identity rather than trying to coopt the message of the Right. We do not need another candidate, chosen for their "electability" by an increasingly conservative opposition.
We cannot win on those terms. We must shake the foundations of the party and the system itself, and reemerge with a new view of what it means to be electable.
Terry McAuliffe has failed strategically. In 10 years, he has not helped Democrats to communicate effectively with rural and surbuban voters. Because of this failure, the Republicans can count on 207 electoral votes for the presidency without even trying. Time for a change!
Yes, we democrats need to become energised and mobilize and Howard Dean has shown he knows how to do that. The cities have been shown time and again to be the base of democrates and that should be something for the DNC, politicians and party leaders to consider. We need to quit apologizing and get out our message of who we are and what we stand for.
Howard Dean has always been the "most electable" candidate. The media has recognized their stupid fall for the "anger" and may not fall for the Karl Rove stunts. Who better to confront the press in the name of the Democratic Party than Dean who has a history of success in Vermont in health care, education, and internationally in being the first to call the war in Iraq irresponsible. I believe he would have won the election in 2004.
Howard Dean, serving as the Chair of the DNC, would respect the importance of telling the truth to the American people. If the American people, after having the scary, unpopular truth hammered into their pshyches, continue to vote on non evidence based rhetoric, this country is doomed. Futhermore, we need a fiscal conservative leading the party.
Dean represents, to my mind, the soul of the Democratic party--its core values of social justice, equality of opportunity (look at what he did for children in Vermont!), fiscal responsibility (i.e. not leaving our grandchildren to foot our bills), responsibility toward our elders, to the evironment which sustains us all, to international cooperation, and the list goes on. Dean is also really smart and savvy. Could he be our (morally far superior) Carl Rove? I think so.
The VERY BEST possible person for this job! If the Democratic Party leadership can't tolerate that, then it is time for a NEW Democratic Party that is capable of enthusiastically reflecting the will of the PEOPLE once again!
