Howard Dean must be the new DNC chairman. Dean gave life to the Democratic party during his campaign and has name recognition - who is this Gov. of Iowa anyway? If anyone other than Dean is made Chairman, then the DNC continues to indulge in their new, apparently favorite, exercise: committing suicide.
Auliffe was a poor Chairman. I could have done better for Kerry than he did.
I believe the DNC needs to make serious changes. We're becoming Republican light without the clear message of the Republicans. Time for a change and Dean's the man to do it.
If the Democrats are looking for someone with leadership, vision and the ability to connect with people, Howard Dean is that person. He already has a base of “faithful” who believe in him and his message. Unlike others in the Democratic party, even before the war in Iraq, he had the clearsightedness to see and to say to the American people that the Bush administration was leading us into the wrong war and under false pretenses. In the same candid way, he took Republicans head on for dividing people on guns and gays and instead spoke to people about the uniting concerns of health care and jobs. He has been the inspiration for thousands of people to take a first-time interest in politics and has spent the last several months promoting the election of other progressive candidates. If Democrats want their party to be something other than “Bush-lite”, Howard Dean should be the choice for DNC chair.
I support Howard Dean for head of the Democratic Party. I don't want to see us go back to pretending we are republican-lite. We need someone who will stand up for our party and not back down. That is Howard Dean!!!
Howard will create and maintain a true identity for the party, not Republican Lite. Tell lllLieberman to cross over to his true party -- the Republican Party.
Dean is the only "politician" I trust. He knows how to rally the base and to bring in the moderate cross-over vote. He has been consistently right on all of the major issues. If it were not for the DLC, he would have been the nominee and, as a true "populist" candidate, he would have beat Bush. For these reasons, I would prefer him as the Presidential candidate for 2008. However, right now I feel that if the Democratic party has any chance at all of surviving, it will require someone with the widespread popularity and "outsider" stature of Dean.
Howard Dean has already done more for the Democratic Party than any other individual in the last few years! No one will be able to get things moving in the correct direction again like he will!!
Please consider standing up for progressive values! Please pick someone who is willing to be bold and brave and can stand up to the likes of Rove and Gillespie. We had all the money in the world and we did not defeat Bush. We need more than money; we need an agressive message person! Please choose Dean, Villaraigosa, or another progressive. Please.
It's time to proudly proclaim the Democratic Party's core LIBERAL LIBERAL LIBERAL values, and stop pandering to the fearful and ignorant. Howard Dean is the only Democrat with the stature to lead this effort!
We need someone with genuine convictions to lead our party. Gov. Dean has proven to Republicans head on in the critical issues of war and taxes and has chosen not to pander unlike the current Democratic party establishment. The dems have nowhere to go but up.
I was a delegate to the 2004 National Convention and I am a Dean Democrat. We need a leader with a BACKBONE and someone who STANDS FOR SOMETHING. We need someone that will stand for the GRASSROOTS. We need someone to rally the BASE. In short, we need you, Dr. Dean to help write the correct prescription for a new Democratic Party.
We, the democrats have tried to play Republican-lite too many times now with uncertain success. Time for some real energy, progressive energy, Howard Dean
"Eeeeyah"! energy. Yes, he could have beaten Bush but the Old Guard wouldn't have it. We lost. Now let's try to get back to where we once belonged, the traditional democrats that put people first, before dollars. Dean was speaking to just that, it's time.
Governor Dean has demonstrated his ability to energize and revitalize the Democratic party.
If ever there was a time for Governor Dean's energy and leadership, now is that time!
I am sick and tired of Terry M. The democratic Chairmen and the other Democratic Party leaders trying to out Republican the Republicans. "It worked with Clinton and to a lesser degree with Carter you might say". Tho that observation may have some merit, I say,"That Dog Won't Hunt Anymore".
Don't get me wrong, I love Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. They served us well. A hell of alot better than any Republican in recient times.
The times are different now. We can't as a party continue shifting to the right anymore. It is time for us as a praty to monve back to our CORE VALUES. It is time for a Center Left Democratic Chairman. It is time for Howard Dean to lead us.
I am sick and tired of our Democratic leaders trying to out Republican the Republicans. It's long over due that we have a Democratic Leadership that is center left instead of center right. "It worked with Clinton" you might suggest, but that was a different time. IMO, the only way we can ever regain the Whight House and control of Congress is to out Democrat the Republicans.
I got involved with the party due to Dean's campaign for President. He has some great ideas and has proven that he can rally the volunteer/activist troops through his grassroots organization Democracy for America!
