Hello, Howard! You may remember me as Linda Hutton at The Baird Center in Burlington. I'm now a retired lobster fisherman on the coast of Maine. My husband and I feel passionately about the issues only you have raised. You are the heart and voice of the Democratic party and we refer to you as the John the Baptist of the party. We are counting on you to resist succombing to the general paralysis and move ahead. It can be done!
Dean demonstrated how to raise big bucks without pandering to corporations and how to broaden our base without abandoning our core values. He needs to speak for our party.
the proviso here is if it won't make problems for Gov. Dean running for president in 2008, and it won't interfere with DFA. If all those are okay, I'm okay with this.
Howard Dean has drive and enthusiasm. He understands that the Democratic Party must derive its energy and resources from the ground up. Howard Dean could make the Democratic party the dominant party for a generation, if we're willing to let him and help him.
Aren't we getting sick of losing? Terry didn't get it. Dean said the election must not turn to Guns, God and Gays, because if it did we would lose. It did. We lost. Dean has a foresight that has been missing within the DNC for generations. He can bring in the Independents to rebuild the party.
The Democrats need someone who can be successful, raise money, and reach out to the left with a progressive vision, not to the right with a conservative one! Dean's the one for the job!
Dean is the ONLY candidate that will keep me in the Democratic Party, otherwise Ind. sounds good to me. Until this party unifies, has one message and gets back to the people and not corporations, I can not support. Dean is the only politician that has impressed me in the last 35 years.
We believe in you Dr. Dean, and we need someone to lead us through the coming years if we are to bring this country together, and therby triumph over the devisive republican party
Howard Dean has both the money raising ability, the ability to succinctly state policy positions, and the ability to produce a great interview when grilled by Tim Russert. Obviously he's our best choice.
I believe he is not only a good leader, but a good listener. We need those qualities in a DNC chairman if we know what's best for our future fights to win this country back.
Howard Dean said he was tired of being divided in this country by race, sexual orientation, class, and gender. And the rest of us are tired too. Dean had the sense that "we are all in this together." Indeed, we need to focus on the issues that are important and unite all of us -- jobs, health care, education, national security, and equality. Howard Dean had the right message for America in the Democratic primaries, and he has the right message for America today.
This is a no-brainer. The good doctor saved the party and nearly got us a win, despite having a less than inspiring nominee and a hostile press. Dean gets results, and that trumps BS every time.
We need someone with vision who can speak directly to people about what is important to them. He won't be distracted by the "moral" issues and will be able to deflect dialogue to the real moral issues of health care, the wealth gap, etc..
Howard Dean, please!
Come on, Howard. Those bastards in Iowa didn't vote for you, but the country needs someone who is not a total moron- someone who as actually balanced a budget and DIDN'T vote for the Patriot Act.
We are at war. The GOP does not think of Democrats as people to "work with," and neither should we. Dean is a proud Democrat who will not lay down, and without someone like that as DNC chair, we're dead again.
Howard Dean IS the new voice of progressive democrats, he gave the party a 'spinal implant' last year, he can lead it to victory as the Chairman during the next four years.
Governor Dean understands and represents the heart and soul of the Democratic Party. He has been steadfast and consistent in speaking out for the values that we Democrats hold so dear -- the very same values that America is supposed to stand for. The Democratic Party is in need of some intensive care and Doctor Dean has just the prescription.
If a Democratic Leadership Council or other "triangulationist" democrat gets the DNC chair position, the party will continue its slide into oblivion and we'll see a filibuster-proof Republican majority in the senate in 2006.
For the sake of the country, we need Dean or someone like him as DNC chair.
