The Democratic Party needs to stick to its distinct progressive voice and to keep its message different from that of the other side. Dean can do this and he has wide appeal.
#3088

Anthony Maffucci said 11/14/04, 2:56 am (verified)
This is a no-brainer. No one has inspired the real democrats since Bobby Kennedy. He inspires the good side rather than the dark side in people. Our candidates and our party has not known how to talk to people. Dean can do this. Those nay sayers (such as Breaux wanting us to go to the center--don't get me started) they need to go get a lobbying job and let the real people retake this party and take back our country. GO HOWARD!

#3083

Ian Brumberger said 11/14/04, 2:27 am (verified)
I found Dean's campaign disapointing for several reasons. First and foremost was a sentiment shared by other Supporters I have spoken to. It was the feeling that sending communications to the campaign was like throwing messages over the wall. No feedback. Also, the obsession with New Hampshire was disheartening. It was as if our own state of Massachusetts was either being taken for granted, or simply not important. In any case, my main concern with Dean as chair is that he had better be extremely liberal and progressive or I will feel betrayed.

I was a supporter of Governor Howard Dean M.D. in his bid for President of the United States. He inspired me to get more involved in fighting for Democratic values and I cannot think of a better person to take the reigns of the party and motivate our members to work together and win more seats in future local and national elections. He represents the new blood we need in our leadership to be successful. I support Howard Dean to become Chairman of the DNC.

#3046

Danielle Weber said 11/13/04, 9:49 pm (verified)
I rejoined the Democratic Party in order to vote for Dean, but after he was railroaded, I reregistered as a Green. I will join th eDemocrats again if Dean is chair. My major concern is corporate control of this country and Dean clearly also sees that as a threat. The DLC 's corporate pandering has weakened the Democratic party and made it lose its direction.

We don't need more focus-group platform design. We need a real grass-roots value-oriented campaign. The old democrats have let the right define themselves as the moral ones, when the left has always been the champion of big moral issues like democracy, voting rights, equal rights, the end of slavery... All things the conservatives have opposed with all their might. Dean speaks to people and real issues, not just some marketing crap like all the other crap we get from big corporations and the right.
