The Democratic Party needs to stick to its distinct progressive voice and to keep its message different from that of the other side. Dean can do this and he has wide appeal.
This is a no-brainer. No one has inspired the real democrats since Bobby Kennedy. He inspires the good side rather than the dark side in people. Our candidates and our party has not known how to talk to people. Dean can do this. Those nay sayers (such as Breaux wanting us to go to the center--don't get me started) they need to go get a lobbying job and let the real people retake this party and take back our country. GO HOWARD!
I know a lot of people, myself included, who were pissed off by this election and are ready to get involved like never before, if only we can find the leadership and direction. Dean is key.
I found Dean's campaign disapointing for several reasons. First and foremost was a sentiment shared by other Supporters I have spoken to. It was the feeling that sending communications to the campaign was like throwing messages over the wall. No feedback. Also, the obsession with New Hampshire was disheartening. It was as if our own state of Massachusetts was either being taken for granted, or simply not important. In any case, my main concern with Dean as chair is that he had better be extremely liberal and progressive or I will feel betrayed.
We need a fresh, bold and truly alternative vision than "Republican Light" that we have gotten so far. Hoawrd Dean is th man with the vision and the energy to articulate it forcefully and unabashedly.
I was a supporter of Governor Howard Dean M.D. in his bid for President of the United States. He inspired me to get more involved in fighting for Democratic values and I cannot think of a better person to take the reigns of the party and motivate our members to work together and win more seats in future local and national elections. He represents the new blood we need in our leadership to be successful. I support Howard Dean to become Chairman of the DNC.
Dr. Dean should have been our candidate. Many didn't vote because they thought there was no difference. I want our government back, and Dean will quit the vacillating.
Dean has always reminded us of Kennedy...even Johnson for what he stands for and and for what he inspires. He appeals to real democrats and it scares the he** out of the rest.
If Howard Dean becomes Chair of the DNC I would join back up in a minute! As Membership Chair, I would encourage all 600+ members of my local Dem party to do the same.
Howard Dean embodies the values this party used to stand for. He has vision, drive, integrity and a commitment to full democracy. I am 36 a registered Dem and I vote.
The only way Democrats can win is to speak for working people -- not to move to the center. I think that many people do not vote Democratic because the party no longer stands for anything but corporate power. Please make Dean DNC Chair.
Dean got smacked down early, the Republicans knew he had the ear of an extremely energized base (the young in particular). I like Howard, I think he'd be great for the DNC.
I rejoined the Democratic Party in order to vote for Dean, but after he was railroaded, I reregistered as a Green. I will join th eDemocrats again if Dean is chair.
My major concern is corporate control of this country and Dean clearly also sees that as a threat. The DLC 's corporate pandering has weakened the Democratic party and made it lose its direction.
I registered as a Democrat this past summer after 24 years as an Independent, and became ACTIVE in campaigning for Democrats because of Howard Dean's campaign. It is time to wake the citizens of our democracy up, and he is a sure bet to lead us in doing it.
The Democratic Party does not need to become the "me, too" imitator of the Republicans. Dr. Dean will ensure that we don't move to "the center," as many seem to think we should do.
Howard Dean has done a great deal for the Democratic Party and was responsible for one of the most successful online grassroots campaigns. He can do it now for the entire party.
We don't need more focus-group platform design. We need a real grass-roots value-oriented campaign. The old democrats have let the right define themselves as the moral ones, when the left has always been the champion of big moral issues like democracy, voting rights, equal rights, the end of slavery... All things the conservatives have opposed with all their might.
Dean speaks to people and real issues, not just some marketing crap like all the other crap we get from big corporations and the right.
Gov. Dean will energize the entire Democratic party, just like he energized his amazing grassroots campaign. With his leadership and bold vision, we will take back our country!!
I think Dean its the best candidate to get the Democratic Party back to more Popolist/
Progressive Roots. The "right"
leaning strategy will only lead to more electoral losses since Democrats are unable to distinuish themselves effectively from the competitition.
