Although I didn't support Dean during the primaries, I respect what he has done with a building grassroots movement, especially with Dem. for America. I believe that he understands the legwork needed to get the Democratic message out, and he will do what is needed to rebuild the party.
I would like to see and support Gov. Howard Dean to become the DNC chairman. I feel he is the person for the job. He has courage and stand up many of the American people's beleive. He has vision and leadership skills that many don't have. I would like to see him to have the opportunity to lead the DNC party to the right direction.
We as a people were misguided into believing the propaganda about weapons of mass destruction. We now need to know the truth about our presidential election. It seems facts surrounding Mr. Bush tend to come up as fiction.
Howard Dean is a man with vision, and has the pioneering gumption of a Democrat Newt Gingrich. We need an architect for the resurgence of the Left, and he is the man for the job.
Given the past three LOSING election cycles, the Dem. party must clean house. Unless a dynamic leader such as Dean can be found, the party will quickly become even more irrelevant. I will not contribute one more penny to the DNC until I see a substantial change in its leadership.
Don't listen to those who say that the only way for Democrats to win is to become Republicans. The Republicans got where they are by unapologetically playing to their base. You can too!
Dean has a lot of energy and fire in him which the Democrats need at this time to overcome the disappointment of the defeat in 2000 of Gore and in 2004 of Kerry. Both Kerry and Gore would have made better presidents than Bush yet they were defeated. (I am not clear why Dean being head of the DNC would preclude his running for president in 2008.)
We need inspired progressives like Dean who can articulate to the American public that a progressive politcal party is about meeting all Americans needs, for health, education, housing and decent pay. I am so tired to the Democrats wanting to parrot the Republican agenda.
Be original and speak to core issues. Don't be bullied by the belligerient right.
The party does not need a bore like Tom Vilsack, who has done nothing to recruit Democratic candidates, has exhibited no coattails in his election wins for governor, has not brought young people into the party, and occasionally shoots from the hip as he did when he supported an "English Only" bill in Iowa. We need someone with verve and spunk, someone articulate and caring and that is Howard Dean.
We must not cave into the center in search of votes! At the same time, our promoting "an extreme, liberal agenda," as our detractors will call it, will not help the country either.
Howard Dean was largely responsible for motivating people to become part of the democratic process and Democraic party in the recent election. He would be a great person to lead the party.
Dean, Clark and Kucinich had grass roots support. The others had party roots. We need a candidate who is supported by the people, not one chosen by the professional politicians. Howard Dean can grow the grass roots. It's not the religion stupid - it's the moral core - integrity.
I do believe Howard Dean with both his expressing of the true Party principals and his demonstrated organizing abilities would be ideal to represent and motivate the Democratic Party. We need a fighter.
Though I have been a registered Democrat all my life, Howard Dean's candidacy got me involved in a way that I never have before, which led me to devote a great deal of time, energy and money to John Kerry's campaign. John Kerry would not have gathered as many votes as he did without new activists like me, and he has Howard Dean to thank. As DNC Chair, Howard Dean can reinvigorate our party and inspire others like myself to get involved -- he has already inspired so many new people to run for office, which will be pivotal to our taking back higher offices from the Republicans over the long term. Please vote for him to serve as DNC Chair!
I think Dean would focus on the issues, on making America more equal. I think some other Democrats are only interested in winning campaigns at any cost and increasing their own personal power. It would be a REALLY good thing if Dean was DNC chairman.
It's time for a change in this country. The current DNC leadership has lost in 3 election cycles, is a minority at all levels of the Federal government, and thus, is at its weakest position in decades. Howard Dean showed the left how to fight the fight in the 21st century, and using his roadmap we nearly won against incredible odds. Dean knows how to use the grassroots movement to revitalize the Democratic Party, and it's time to let that new activism keep surging ahead. Those that can't surf the wave need to be washed aside or the successful Republican organization will continue to clamp down on the 2 party system.
Let's give the Democratic Party back to the real Democrats. I don't want another Democratic liberal apologist who has to put on his hunting clothes and threaten to kill the terrorists instead of bringing them to justice. We need to turn our attention to finding candidates who make us proud to eb Democrats again, and I believe Howard Dean can help that happen.
After three rounds of defeat, (more had it not been for Clinton's talents), there is a need for a change of direction-- for someone to provide the party with a clear vision that can be disseminated through a grassroots network. Dean is the person best suited for the task. He proved so during the primaries, and again as one of Kerry's strongest advocates. We need change; not four more years of ineffectually going though the motions.
As Democrats, we need to embrace our core beliefs, not apologize for them. This is the sort of moral integrity that will help us the win back the White House and the Senate. Embracing our core values will also give the Democrats the moral authority that some believe our party has lost. It is a no-brainer: Howard Dean is the one who helped the Democratic Party regain its moral authority. He has the integrity, vision, and the clarity of conviction to lead out party into the 21st Century.

Electing Howard Dean to the chairmanship would be the best thing for the Democratic party right now as they try to activate their base and counter Republican screeching. If they don't listen to the people and elect an insider, they will alienate so many young people willing to get involved right now.
We need Howard Dean to save the Democratic party. Terry Mc Alliph(sp?) and his ilk need to go. They had a chance to make changes and they did not. They had a chance to reach americans in a meaningful way and they did not. It's time for meaningful words and changes. It's DEAN TIME.
Gov. Dean is the Chairman the Democratic Party needs most. The Party needs to listen to its energy base of today; the Progressives. Give us room, let us work!!!
Reform = Howard Dean
The status quo has lost us three elections in a row and please recall, Clinton owes his election to Ross Perot. Time for a change.
Former Republican who is now
for Democrats solely because
Howard Dean convinced me he really
gives a Darn about people. The
DNC needs Dean far more than Dean
needs the DNC. More importantly
people can see that Dean is honest
something that is sorely lacking in
politics everywhere else.
We need a new direction for the Democratic Party. I believe Howard Dean can lead us in that direction to where the Democratic Party will be Democratic again.
We need courageous leadership that is not afraid to challenge the Republicans. The U.S. has been dragged far enough to the extreme right and the answer is not to tack to the right as the DLC wing wants but to hold our ground and fight. Howard Dean is the only one in our party who has had the guts to do this. The last thing we need is more ineffectual Dem "leaders" who act like quislings for the Republican party.
What better use could there be for Howard Dean? The Democratic Party needs his leadership now more than ever if it is to survive. This party needs progressive leadership, not spineless centrist Demopublicans!
We must restore a liar-free White House and Congress for a better and more equitable America. Dean showed that he had the passion and leadership to catalyze a change in the Democratic party. Unfortunately, we all let another man with less passion try to take on the liar Rove and his puppet Bush. Elect Howard Dean as head of the DNC.
I am not an extremist, and I am not a leftist. I am a terrified american living in a country now completely controlled by right-wing extremists. If the DNC does more of the same failed stuff, moving farther and farther to the right, it'll meet the definition of insanity -- doing the wrong thing over and over, in the belief that it will eventually turn out right. Go for a new approach, wouldja! Dean's not a leftist or an extremist either -- just a sensible, plainspoken guy who can see that the Emperor's got no clothes.
We need someone who has taken the time and effort, unselfeshly, to build a plaform for progressive values. Howard Dean has the courage, guts, and integrity to do that. He should be the next DNC chairman.
