I think Mr. Dean is definitely the person we need for uplifting our spirits and doing what is needed to put our party on top again! He has shown his anger may get the best of him when in front of a camera - but what better person than one who knows his mind to run our party?!
Please enlist Howard Dean as the chair of the DNC. He is one of the single most powerful reasons so many voters were engergized in the last campaign. Perhpas if he had stayed in the race we would have a different result and W would be exiting the White House rather than planning on occupying it for another 4 years.
The crisis in America is such that an honest, analytical,
forthright voice must with courage frame debate on critical issues. Progressives must retake the soul of this country from radical conservatives.
I agree with many people, a tree that is not connected to its roots will wither away. Instead of worrying about looking "too" liberal, show the USA why liberalism is good.
Listen up, DNC. Forget about the labels left, right, and centrist! The soul of our party is in the moral issues that we champion already. Think about it. Liberal means LIBERTY and progressive means PROGRESS. Conservative means resisting change whether good or bad. Dean stands for freedom and progress and that's what our party should stand for. Americans will vote for that message.
We need Strong Leadership. Howard Dean eminates this, and more. He stands for the people of our nation. He deserves this position. He has my family and I's support.
I am now living in Canada. If Howard becomes DNC chairman I might return someday. Whoever said that if Dean had been the candidate he would have won IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!
I think Howard Dean is an inspiration to all Americans. He's courageous, honest and extremely intelligent. He has the ability to reach out across the nation and rally Democrats, forgotten Republicans and even independents. He has principles and stands by them. He would make an excellent DNC Chairman!
Howard Dean would build the grassroots of the Democratic Party. He knows how to bring independants and previous non-voters into the party as he did to his candidacy. He knows to speak the truth, appeal to our best instincts, and work for the common good. These are the values we must uphold.
I think Dean would be great to be on the DNC chair and agree that he has great vision and once he has his mind made up he doesn't switch. We need someone to bring that back and excitement as well. Kerry did well bringing that back but we need something for the party. I'm so for Dean as the DNC chairman.
See what happened when we allowed a middle of the road candidate, who was afraid to really say what he believed when he was young and not yet influenced by centrists. We need Howard to tell it like it is and get the Democratic Party back to its roots.
I did not support Howard Dean’s run for the presidency but it was hard not to be energized by him. I was an Edwards man from the beginning and I believed he was the best candidate. But Howard Dean said everything that I wanted to say. Everything that I believed. We lost. But that doesn’t mean we were wrong. We weren’t. We stood for what was right. As Martin Luther King once said “The arc of history is long but it bends toward justice.” We should not and shall not waver from what we believe. Howard Dean is perfect to lead the party because he is the party. He represents what this party is about. Standing up for what is right and for those whose voice cannot be heard no mater the cost. We need a voice and Howard Dean can provide that voice. John Edwards said “Hope is on the way” well it is and Howard Dean is that hope. Keep hope alive Democrats with the knowledge that in four years the righteousness of our outrage will be vindicated with a Democratic victory.
I really feel that Howard Dean should do what he thinks is the best postion for him. However, I feel he has important work to do in rebuilding the Democratic Party from the Grass Roots up.
Howard Dean is the breath of fresh air that the party needs. Not to mention the ability to raise money.
He always said he wanted to take back the Democratic Party, The Country and The Whitehouse.
I thought he meant all at once. But if we can get only one at a time... well then so br it.
Howard Dean is exactly the leader our party needs. He is clear-thinking, direct-talking, and very well organized. He's the best person I know to clarify to the nation what a Democrat is, to bring us all into focus, and drive us to success in future elections.
I would love to have a DNC Chair who is not afraid to get his hands dirty. Fighting for what's right and not just what's politically correct. Howard Dean is that Man.
On a daily basis, we need to determine and practice our deepest values of what we believe to be good. That is the only way we can defeat the hypocracy that can befall our political systems.
Republicans have managed to demonize the word 'liberal', causing many progressives to shy away from that identification. We need to reclaim the word and promote what it stands for by having true liberals like Howard Dean at the helm of the Democratic Party. I believe promoting a truly liberal agenda, along with candidates who embrace and encourage it, will invigorate and arouse those 'lefties' who are apathetic and disillusioned, thereby swelling the ranks of the active Democratic Party base.
I believe that Gov. Dean can be more effective in this role. He can work with the Democratic Party and help bring the grassroots activism we displayed this year to the entire party. We need to stand strong and not be discouraged at this juncture. It is too early to be worrying about who is running in '08, but in this position Gov. Dean to affect a lot of positive change, while bringing a lot of new energy to the party.
What can I say about HOward Dean? The man has fire, the Democrat party needs fire. The guy got a lot of people involved in politics who hadn't touched the arena before. The Democrat party needs those people if the 'neocons' are to be beaten.
We need you Dr. Dean ... America needs you ... and the DNC needs someone with the backbone and courage to lead us out the darkenss that we've been sentenced to for another FOUR years!
PLEASE ... HELP, we need a good doctor!
I have supported the Democratic Party for 35 years. If the DNC does not recognize the need for reform, with Howard Dean to guide the way, then I am off to a third party. Enough is indeed, enough.
Howard Dean should be elected Chairman of the Democratic National Commitee without question. For the Democratic Party to retain its dedicated grassroot workers, we need a man of integrity and that man is Howard Dean.
The Democratic Party is a broken party. That's why we lost the last two elections to "It's hard work" Bush. Most democrats I know distrust the Democratic party in it's present form. They voted against Bush and not for Kerry. That's the message. We need new leadership and not the same old business as usual because as it now stands I won't continue to support the party anymore. New leadership and new blood in the party is essential to winning next time. The "OLD GUARD" must go!
