Dr. Dean taught the Dems how to out-fundraise the GOP for the first time in living memory. He rebuilt the party's message and active base, revolutionized grassroots-to-center communications, and gave the party a backbone transplant -- without even billing Medicare. Time to reward the man who saved our party from oblivion.

We desparately need a total change of linkage and perspective in the leadership of the DNC! Howard Dean has a real connection with the broad progresive, thinking, working class roots of this party and will do more to reach deep into the middle class ellements who have been alienated by the neo-con dems who have dragged us into the loosing mire of old party bossism. The Donald Trump like board room mentality has destroyed any hope of winning unless we make major change and do it fast- we only have two years to turn this ship around and sail her out of the certain mouthball demise she is headed for presently. The demo-right has had their chance and failed for years. SO; move over, move on, open the process for real new leadship - now!

If there's one thing the Democratic Party needs right now, it's the vitality, idealism, and passion that Howard Dean brought to the 2004 campaign. He energized so many people, greatly multiplied our base, and made crystal clear the difference between the two parties. He may have been too forceful and independent to lead the ticket himself. But I'm convinced he can reactivate the party at a time when it is desperate need of his kind of fierce dedication.

I am from Texas. In the 1950s my father was involved in the labor movement. Texas Rangers were sent in against them and my father and his brothers had their heads bashed in. They seeded their cause in blood and became active in the Democratic Party. They bettered their lives and won some victories. What we need is to return to the causes that made the Democratic Party great. We need to recapture the fervor that my father, my mother and their generation had. I saw that in Howard Dean, a willingness to present new ideas and the fervor to help bring them about. Unfortunately, when the party establishment ordained Kerry as the candidate that fervor that could have ignited the party disappeared. Instead, the Anybody But Bush attitude prevailed. Let's return to our roots. We need leadership that is not comfortable with the donations from the corporations and the Washington establishment. We need leadership that will actually lead us in a fight. John Kerry is a good man. If only he would have had the same fire that he had when he came back from Vietnam and stood up to the Nixon regime. I stood with him as a Vietnam Veteran who protested the war when I returned. I took to the streets. I kept looking for that John Kerry, the John Kerry that would have beat Bush. But sadly, the Democratic Party has abandoned the passion that will make us great again. If we have the right leader, and that leader is Howard Dean, then next time we will have the winning candidate because we are once again a party that is determined to win.
