If you grew up in America you probably learned a lot of your national pride by watching Superman stand up for "Truth, Justice and the American Way." Now, the producers of the new Superman Returns movie have decided that it's too controversial to support the American Way so they've changed his motto to "Truth, Justice...and all that stuff." I don't know about you but I'm tired of apologizing for being a proud American. If these Hollywood liberals think they can pocket a few extra dollars from America hating countries by turning Superman's back on my country then I say go ahead, but you won't get my money.
If you grew up in another country your idea of America was probably formed mainly by watching American movies and tv shows like Superman. You probably saw a great nation that is proud of its people and eager to right any wrongs that we found. Today it's different. People in other countries see a nation that is anything but the UNITED States of America. The worst part is they're getting this message from our own people. Producers, actors, musicians (Hello, Dixie Chicks) that don't have a clue why our young men and women still proudly wear a uniform and defend our flag.
Let's make sure the producers of Superman Returns understand how we feel. Let's make sure other movie producers and entertainers know that cashing in of foreign dollars by turning your back on America will not be tolerated. Let's send a message that we are proud to be Americans, regardless of what anybody says.
