I remember watching "Today's Special" when I was about 2 or 3 (I don't know exactly) while visiting with relatives in Pennsylvania. The one that stood out in my mind is the "X Marks the Spot" song from "Treasure Hunts".
Please please make season sets of this show available on DVD and make the reunion show a reality!!! My family and I are true Today's Special and TVOntario fans for life.
The first time Sam summoned a liverwurst and onion sandwich from his computer, i was hooked. this show made me believe that technology was capable of producing nasty snacks. i support this petition.
Why not? It was so wholesome and I would prefer for my kids to watch this over Spongebob Squarepant. This program will help to enhance their ability to pretend which is hard in this age of the video game.

I support this petition because there is no other t.v. show ever created that i want more than the Today's Special DVD collection, for many, many, many years now i have been telling everyone i knew about my favorite show ever and how it was a childrens show on nickolodeon when i was like four or five. I would describe the show in as much detail as i could, the store,muffy,Sam,the maniquin,TXL and everyone would look at me like i was crazy. I was beginning to think that i had just made the show up in my head, when about a year ago i finally found some clips of it on the internet. So please please help get it on DVD. Thankyou so much...
This show was awesome and holds dear to my heart. When I have kids I'd like them to have the same fond memories I had. Show's today do not add up to the high standard of Today's Special
I was born in 1983, and Today's Special is one of my earliest, most vague memories. I was only able to track down the name of the show 2 years ago thanks to the IMDB. For years and years I would ask friends if they remembered a show with puppets and a manequin that would come alive after hours in a department store... it always sounded vaguely familiar, but no one else could remember the name of he show either. I would die of nostalgic happiness if this show was released on DVD. I would definitely buy it and I think thousands of others would as well.
because I want to show this to my kids so they can appreciate it like I did when I was a child. I think that memories are the most important thing that you can share!
They sure don't make good shows like this one anymore. The actors/actresses were #1. The storyline always kept the viewers entertained, and the music was great. Where do you find shows like that on TV these days?. The people who played the parts of "Jodie and Jeff" deserve a star on Canada's Walk of Fame!
i would love to have this and many other 1980's children's shows to be on dvd i have 3 boys and feel very uncomfortable letting them watch shows that are on tv today. i am 25 years old and still remember watching this and so of the wonderful lessons i learned from the shows of my childhood my sons love the older shows i have on dvd and i am sure that this would also be among their faves. thank you!!!!
I loved this show when I was little. Now that they have been putting all the old shows I used to watch on DVD, I have been looking for Today's Special. I would definately buy it; my kids would love it too.
I don't even know what made me think to look up this show, considering I was only 5 years old when the show went off the air, but I still remember watching it every chance I could get. The website brought back a whole bunch of great memories!
Raised on this show; I liked it way more than Sesame Street or Fraggle Rock. A reunion would be great, but the show on DVD would be better! (I'd buy it in a heartbeat!)
I can't wait for Today's Special to come to DVD and/or show them on Nick. There should a Nick classics block where you can show Today's Special, Pinwheel, etc. PLEASE PUT THEM ON DVD!!!!! I AM BEGGING YOU!!!
Todays special as well as many 1970 and 1980 shows should be released on DVD. Children can learn like i and many have. We never knew we were learning, but we look back on it and realize we did...these shows are unlike todays. and would be purchased quite heavily I'm sure. Jeff
I support this petition because I can relive my childhood and enjoy a Canadian classic, but also because it reminds me of quality time I spent with my father. We always watched it together, he's been gone since 94, and I think it's great that I can have tangible memory of him to share with my children some day.
Today's Special is an often overlooked, underappreciated television show from my childhood. I'd give anything to watch it again, and share it with my children. It deserves to be held in the same regard as the best children's shows of all time.
