However these schemes were finalised, members compulsorily contributed for their own retirement. Isn't that what superannuation is about? Any defence related organisation should be supportive of this endevour. What is the position of the ADF, RSL etc etc?
My son is a reservist and I worry about his future. I believe the guys who already have put their lives on the line need more than the pollies get. The pollies don't put their lives on the line!
Mr Howard/Costello for once in your life come & see how the other side lives & survives, you are both well insulated in Parliament from the daily increases in the cost of living it is time for you both to come out into the REAL WORLD & be educated in the difficult way of life that the TPI's suffer along with their families.
if the DFRDB scheme pension was correctly indexed in line with the same people who adjust politicians wages, there would be no anomoly.politicians get it right for themselves, then why not those who served their country at the sharp end.with the disadvantage DFRDB recip[ients face, what is the point of compulsory superannuation,if it is eroded or unequal for ex-servicemen.remember that come election time.
As an Ex Serviceman we all supported our Country loyaly for many years without question.
Now it is time for the politicians to stand up and be counted and support our serving personel with action to remove the in-equity in the tax treatment of our DRFRB.
An election is just around the corner and I will seriously consider giving my vote to the polly who will support this petition.
