Over 20 years service to this country and this is the "Thanks" you get. It is not just the service person that did the hard yards the whole family was along for the ride. So now the whole family suffers again.
I believe that the facts stated by J Graham are true. But I won't hold my breath waiting in view of the Federal Governments recod of treatment of retired Mil personnel.
Am tired of being treated like a 2nd class citizen behind all the minority, ethnic & political groups for having served my country. Time to fix the problems JohnHoward.
I too was discriminated against by another local government body stealing my super entitlements. It appears governments can do as they like to the hard working majority
After paying a percentage of my salary into DFRDB for nearly 30 years and as a war service veteran, I am very disappointed that I am now to be discriminated against by the Government in respect to superannuation entitlements.
I was proud to serve in the Army for 27 years, but I have always been bitter about how we were/are treated re super. Why should a select group of 'fat cat' pollies get something that the rest of hard working Ozzies can't access? There is very little equality in the super system when it comes to working for the Govt. Treasurer, isn't it about time Defence personnel got some recognition instead of being an easy target to screw continuously.
I would like the DFRB/DFRDB funds to get back the money that was stolen from us by the Pollies in 1972 after we were all told that we would have the surplus funds divided up among us. I believe that theft is a crime, but, apparently not when it is done by a Pollie to pull themselves out of trouble.
Surviving on a veterans pension which has less and less buying power is like trying to keep water in a rusty bucket. The corrosive system causes it to leak away.
