30 plus years I served Aust - now I need a helping hand Johnny Howard and P. Costello - Now you guys can help support your troops - PLEASE reconsider Costellos shameful remarks.
My hubby gave 25 years of his life to the Defence of Australia and now is a TPI Veteran - now.... it's time I think for the Australian Government to help him in this small way. It wont cost you much - Just a VOTE...!!!
Most of the people signing this petition are 20 year plus military veterans like myself - don't go back on your word Pollies - VOTERS REALLY DO COUNT...!!!
Dear Peter & John,
Here is a legacy from Gough Whitlam that you could reverse. This is yet another example of the ALP deciding it knows what is best and just grabbed this fund for its own use. Historically the ALP has failed its service people but you hve a chance to reverse that.
the australian government made this dfrb/db scheme compulsory, i thought the money we paid in,was to FUND. WE HAD NO SAY IN OUR PAYMENTS to our retirement fund!!!!
yes the dfrb fund.I would support a march on parliment house and i'm sure the people of Australia would support us. james mcmanimm 22years service.
ARA 23years and 5 days effective service including Active Service in Malaysia/Borneo 63 to 65, Vietnam 68/69 incl Battle for Coral. Paid 5% of my wages into DFRB & DFRDB over all those years. The Government made big money from loaning it out and big business paid minor interest rates for the loan eg. Westfields. Now where is our reward?
I recall the days when the Whitlam Government "stole" our superannuation - now the Government has the cheek to say that our entitlements are unfunded ! I think that it's about time that our pollies treated our servicemen and servicewomen on par themselves !
A DFRDB recipient after 20 Years Service in RAN and Returned from Active Service, I am unable to get assisitance from Centrelink, DVA help is miniscule, my health is deteriorating and you Treasurer and your Government are Ex Servicemen friendly. I don't think so!. Help us to maintain a life that rewards us for our commitment in doing our best and protecting and fighting for Australia. To ignore us is to kill us. For to live on our meagre super is criminal.
It never ceases to amaze me that our elected idiots continually praise our troops when they direct them into conflicts of their choosing and in return do their damndest to place barriers between us and our entitlements. After all their revenue is OUR tax payments not theirs.
I served for over twenty years and I support the petition. When I first joined the scheme we were taxed on our total wages including our contributions and then when I took my commutation, and I am still being taxed on a fund that the Government says is not taxed. Give me a BREAK.
My husband served over 20yrs in the RAN & I fully support this petition. It's time the Government opened their eyes to the personnel who served their country.
All governments no matter who they have never served their country in time of need. As long as they keep their income and their super up, they donot care????
