Seems eveyone wants to take and never give, lost funds by government of the day 12 months prior to discahrge which effected DFRDB pension for rest of life, now they want to chip away at it again
I totally support this petition the DFRDB pension was earnt by dedicated service personnel, in retirement it is an essential income source that Veterans and Ex Service men and women rely on to live a reasonable lifestyle.
I remember Alexander Downer in 1993 saying to the CPO Mess HMAS SYDNEY, that we are just "Public Servants in a uniform" Well if thats the case, how about the same entiltlements.
To us, dfrb/dfrdb were compulsary. Civilians had/have a choice of funds. Why are we being discriminated against.? WE worked for the government, will the politicians be treated the same as us?
All superannuation payments were untaxed prior to 1988, therefore, at worst, service personnel who qualified for pension before 1989 should be treated the same as civilian superannuants.
