Please seek legislation which will restore the effect of the High Court
judgement in the case GOODFELLOW v FEDERAL COMMISSIONER OF TAXATION,
17Nov1976-4March1977, Melbourne.
I paid taxes and DFRDB contributions from the age of 16 through 21 years. Maybe the pollies could discuss this issue at a 2 am session where they could slip it though for us....just like some of their payrises.
The Governments agenda is to ensure for future generations the older population become self funded in retirement. This taxation on ex service personnel leaves less disposable income and therefore increases the number of people who will need to seek additional support (welfare).
I Support this petition as I served in the Army & RAAF for over 20 yrs, I have tried tosign this petion before but have not got my name on the petition. I agree what you are trying to do Good luck.
Retired as a Regimental Sergeant Major after nearly 24 Years service including two operational deployments I feel I am personally being cheated out of what is rightfully mine and that of others. Stop changing the goal posts to suit.
