Give Veterans 0ur due entitlements, without our veterans, would you all be in a position to remove our bennefits and entitlements???? THINK ABOUT US, WE SURE THOUGHT ABOUT YOU AND THE REST OF AUSTRALIA...!!!!
DFRB/DFRDB superannuation schemes designed by the Federal Government, legislated to be compulsorily funded by military personnel for the benefit of the Federal Government.
While serving my 23 years I served almost 5 years in Malaysia. In that country we were classified as 3rd as 3rd classed citizens of that country. Why is it that at home in Oz our own Government seems to treat us with the same disdain.
Once again the goal posts appear to move - it behoves the Government to show respect and compassion for those that have willingly served the country and paid for our entitlements in more than just fiscal contribution.
I cannot believe what this government has done to my DFRBD.I jined in 1960 left in 1980 met lady 1985 divorced 2002 and had to give her half do you really think this is fair
Let's not turn this petition into a Pollie-bashing exercise; bring the facts to the fore and let them speak for themselves. Our superannuation has been subjected to a different set of rules from those applied to other Government schemes, and to our great detriment. The balance could probably be righted just by doing away with free travel for life for ex-PM's!!
I am not in DFRDB, but it was near thing. After almost 30 years service I get $144 a fortnight. How do you think the DFRDB recipients feel when you do this to them? Why don't you give up your Super in the same fashion? You should be more mindful of who your "bosses" are. DJG, National President, Service Person's Support Network
This inequity is un-Australian and the Govt should be ashamed...for once how about they do the right thing!!..I wait with anticipation but not much hope.
Use us then abuse us. Yer! as long as I'm alright JACK,You've got your millions in super for doing nothing over a couple of year bugger the rest of you. Typical politician's mentality
April 68-May 04 36 years of loyal service and this is the reward? Come on Mr. Costello show some backbone and give us what we deserve. Along with the super tax exemption how about restoring the full value of our pension once commutation has been repayed at age 72?
Another example of the gross unfair treatments from the government. I have worked hard all my life, just as the other pensioners and and exservice people should we be treated the same way.
1980-2000 and we had no choice, this was our super fund...as always the goal posts change for the normal people and the pollies are the only ones that reap the rewards.
I'm not naïve enough to believe that ny politician will react, unless there are votes in it.
But I do believe that if the R&SL alleged leadership were to get off their collective comfortable political arses they might impact on government.
Would that I could meet Howard or Costello on a dark night with a stick of C4 in my swag, I think I'd know where to fit it?
Fix this Canberra....
Thinking of enlisting? think again, government(S) never honour their promises to Diggers.
I am fed up to the teeth reading about politicians' perks and increases while exservice men and women struggle to survive.Serving members are dicriminated against yet they are the ones protecting this country by risking their lives.let's get some justice and get the pollies to do something right for a change.
